We may have gotten our first look at Iden Versio's daughter in Star Wars: Battlefront II. In a rare bit of good news for the troubled triple-AAA game, Battlefront II has confirmed that it will follow through on its promise to continually update the game multiplayer and single-player DLC in a new trailer. This downloadable content, unlike the DLC for Battlefront I, will all be free, which does offset some of the controversy that has swirled around the game before and after its release.

The trailer doesn't offer much in the way of new information for the multiplayer content. It's been confirmed for quite awhile that alongside the release of The Last Jedi, Battlefront II would be adding Finn and Captain Phasma to the game, and both characters appear in the new trailer. The preview also seems to show off an important character who was only teased in the campaign that was available upon release. Indeed, the trailer might reveal main character Iden Versio's mysterious daughter.

Star Wars: Battlefront II let several plot threads hanging, but the main one was Iden having a daughter with her squadmate Del Meeko. The identity of the daughter was left a secret, as was Iden's survival. However, in the new trailer (around the 1:03 time mark), a young woman can be glimpsed. The girl is with Iden's ID9 seeker droid and she does share more than passing resemblance to Iden and Del. It's therefore pretty reasonable to assume that whoever the character is, she is the daughter of Iden Versio. She may even end up being the playable character for the next leg of the campaign (although the trailer promises that the DLC will specifically continue Iden's story).

Iden Versio in Star Wars Battlefront 2

If the mysterious woman is Iden's daughter that might be a bit of letdown to some. The fact that a mysterious daughter was introduced in Star Wars: Battlefront II led more than a few fans to jump to the conclusion that the daughter was Rey. Star Wars loves its symmetry and synergy and it would not have been completely out of the question to connect the game and movie. Plenty of cinematic characters appears in the campaign for Battlefront II.

However, Rey becoming part of the Versio family was always a long shot. Battlefront II's campaign might be apart of the Star Wars universe and spans two trilogies of the Skywalker Saga, but it was still never billed or intended to be a revolutionary story, just a story in the universe.  Battlefront II was always meant to be one small slice of the gigantic Star Wars story pie.

The biggest nail in the theory coffin might be that Star Wars Battlefront II's first season of DLC will release on December 13 for all players. This is two days before The Last Jedi opens. It's almost impossible the franchise would want to preempt a huge reveal from the movie, in the game.
