A major spoiler for Star Wars: The Bad Batch surfaces online before the show's premiere thanks to a new toy leak. Over the last decade, Lucasfilm has made animated shows a big part of the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars: The Clone Wars ran for multiple seasons after its 2008 debut and before Disney canceled it, only for season 7 to be finished as a Disney+ exclusive. The last season of the beloved show proved to include a backdoor pilot for the next animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

The upcoming show will follow the ragtag group of elite clones known as Clone Force 99, but they are also known as the Bad Batch due to their genetic mutations from the cloning process. The Bad Batch is led by Hunter and includes Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo as its other members. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will explore their stories after the rise of the Empire and becoming mercenaries without a war to fight in. However, a toy leak reveals that one of its members will not be part of the team anymore.

Bespin Bulletin shared an image of a leaked toy for Star Wars: The Bad Batch that reveals Crosshair will be part of the Imperial army. The leaked toy is for a Black Series figure of Crosshair and confirms that he's now a former member of the Bad Batch. This is due to the Bad Batch defecting from the Empire, but Crosshair sticks with the Imperials. Without the Bad Batch, the toy description indicates Crosshair forms a group of Elite Troopers.

The leaked toy comes as Lucasfilm nears the debut of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+. The series is set to have its first episode launch on May 4 and be 70 minutes long. The marketing hasn't confirmed this twist for Crosshair and the Bad Batch, so it appears Lucasfilm was trying to keep this reveal a secret for the show itself. If there are toys for Crosshair that label him as an Imperial fighter, it is now possible that Star Wars: The Bad Batch confirms his departure from the team in its extended first episode.

Crosshair splitting off from the Bad Batch and leading an Elite Troopers team should set him up to be at odds with his fellow clones throughout Star Wars: The Bad Batch. He can also be an entry character for the series to explore more of the Empire at its earliest stages, which could be how Grand Moff Tarkin and Emperor Palpatine appear. With Crosshair now expected to be an antagonist for the Bad Batch, it will be fascinating to see how willing they are to hurt each other or if Crosshair will ultimately switch sides to rejoin the team. Thankfully, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is right around the corner and can start answering these questions.
