Star Wars: The Clone Wars might be over, but the fight continues in new animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which will release on Disney+ starting from May 4, 2021. Read on to find out The Bad Batch release time, dates, and how to watch.

Created by Dave Filoni and featuring Dee Bradley Baker as the voice of most of the main characters, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set in the aftermath of the Clone Wars, when the Galactic Republic was first reorganized into the Galactic Empire. The series focuses on Clone Force 99, a "bad batch" of clone troopers who each have unique genetic mutations and share a lack of respect for the Empire's authority. Their work as mercenaries leads them to cross paths with characters like Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), the gun-for-hire who made her debut in The Mandalorian, and rebel fighter Saw Gerrera (Andrew Kishino). It also makes them a target for Grand Moff Tarkin (Stephen Stanton), who wants them tracked down and destroyed.

Disney+ has experienced technical problems at the release time of other popular original shows, with new episodes of WandaVision causing outages for some users due to the spike in traffic. Demand will likely be lower for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, but if new episodes aren't available at release time due to similar outages then check back later in the day. Disney+ is available to watch on all major streaming devices, including PCs and laptops, Smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Apple and Android mobile devices, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is the first major Star Wars franchise release since The Mandalorian's season 2 finale, and there are several other upcoming shows set in the galaxy far, far away. These include Obi-Wan Kenobi, a live-action series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, and Andor, a series focused on Diego Luna's character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. On the movie front, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron is set to release on Christmas 2023, with Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) directing.
