Warning! Spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, "Battle Scars"

Star Wars: The Bad Batch features a significant connection with EA's Jedi: Fallen Order. Not only are both stories set during the same era of the Star Wars timeline, but the Bad Batch just ventured to the very same planet former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis was hiding on after surviving Order 66 and the Jedi Purge, seen in the game's very first chapter. Not only does the latest episode of Bad Batch provide a new look at the junk planet Cal learned to call home, but it also serves as the biggest major reference to the game in the Skywalker saga thus far.

In Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis is the game's Jedi protagonist being a survivor of the Jedi Purge. With the Empire having been in power for five years, Cal is introduced to players as a member of the Scrapper's Guild on the planet Bracca, working to salvage and break down old Republic battle cruisers that have been dumped all over the planet's surface. However, he's eventually discovered by Darth Vader's Imperial Inquisitors, which kickstarts his journey as an active fugitive while also seeking to restore the Jedi Order. Now, Star Wars: The Bad Batch episode 7, "Battle Scars" features Bracca as well, being visited by Clone Force 99.

Coincidentally, Bracca is the same planet where Captain Rex takes the Bad Batch to find a means to remove their inhibitor chips. Despite the series taking place only a few weeks after the fall of the Republic, the world is already covered in quite a few of the Republic's warships, and the clones are seen traversing their way into the remains of one in particular, needing the tech within its med-bay to safely remove the chips from their heads. However, they could've easily run into a younger Cal who was already on the junk world, seeing as how he and his master had been stationed above Bracca when they were attacked by their clone troopers during Order 66. After his master was killed Cal crash-landed on the surface below, eventually finding work as a scrapper, keeping a low profile.

Bad-Batch-Bracca

While it seems as though an interaction with Cal Kestis wasn't meant to be, it's still a pretty fun reference to the beloved and popular Star Wars game all the same. Furthermore, when members of the Scrapper's Guild are seen reporting the Bad Batch's whereabouts to the Empire, their poncho-type uniforms are the same Cal wears in the game's first chapter before players are given the opportunity to customize his attire, an impressive attention to detail and continuity by the series' animators.

In any case, The Bad Batch's latest mission to Bracca is the first major reference to Jedi: Fallen Order, serving as a new piece of connective tissue that further integrates the game's dynamic and impressive story with the rest of the Star Wars timeline as a whole. While this doesn't guarantee the existence of the rumored Fallen Order sequel, it could certainly be taken as a good sign. Lucasfilm seems to have faith in the the first game's story enough to warrant this new reference, so perhaps they'll continue Cal's journey forward in some fashion in the future.
