Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader arrives in a new fan poster for the Disney+ Star Wars spinoff show, Ahsoka. Disney+’s first live-action series taking place in a galaxy far, far away, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian, went to admirable length connecting the films to the animated series. For example, The Mandalorian season 2 introduced Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels’ Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson)—the former Padawan learner of Anakin Skywalker who will soon be getting her own live-action series.

The success of The Mandalorian has resulted in a plethora of upcoming Star Wars television shows, including The Book of Boba FettAndorAhsoka, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The latter series will take place eight years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and follow Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi during his time on Tatooine. Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as the iconic Jedi Master with his once Padawan Hayden Christensen returning in the roles of, presumably, Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. That being said, it was recently announced that Christensen will also appear in Ahsoka.

Famed artist Bosslogic recently posted some art to Instagram showing Christensen Anakin/Darth Vader's arrival in the upcoming Ahsoka series. The piece serves as a poster for the show, featuring the titular Togruta wielding her lightsabers as TIE fighters and a star destroyer approach. Check it out below:

Last audiences saw of Ahsoka in The Mandalorian, it was revealed she’s on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn and, in turn, searching for Ezra Bridger. Ahsoka is said to take place five years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The last time Ahsoka saw Darth Vader in Rebels, the pair dueled. As Darth Vader died at the end of Episode VI, it’s unclear exactly how Christensen will play into the series. Presumably, Anakin/Darth Vader will appear via flashbacks/visions or as a Force Ghost—which opens the door for an appearance by McGregor as Obi-Wan as well.

Before the release of Disney’s sequel trilogy, George Lucas’ prequels and Christensen’s performance were largely criticized. Viewers have since warmed to his portrayal and were elated just to hear his voice in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka shows give both Christensen and audiences a second chance to embrace the character of Anakin Skywalker while offering closure to all involved. It’ll be interesting to see how the live-action shows further bridge the gap between the animations and live-action, especially regarding “Snips” and “Skyguy.”
