Fans get their best look at a member of the Knights of Ren for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The enigmatic group of Force users poses a lot of questions that need answering. Debuting in Star Wars: The Force Awakens during Rey's (Daisy Ridley) chilling vision after she touched Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) original lightsaber, the crew has been missing in action in the sequel trilogy. Star Wars: The Last Jedi totally disregarded the existence of the Knights of Ren, and Rey's vision in general. However, J.J. Abrams is determined to incorporate them back into the story.

Marketing for The Rise of Skywalker thus far has included the Knights of Ren. What seems to be an altercation between them and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and First Order Stormtroopers was included in the movie's first teaser released during this year's Star Wars Celebration. A string of promotional photos for Star Wars 9 were also rolled out through Vanity Fair, including one that features the Knights of Ren being directed by Abrams in the middle of the desert. Despite both instances, there's still so much fans need to know about them, and while that information is likely being saved for the movie itself, at least the public now has a proper image of one of its members thanks to a new visual book.

A Knight of Ren graces the cover of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, giving fans their best look at a member of the team. There are at least six members of the crew with different get-up and weapons, albeit they dress up in all black ensembles. This one carries a "vibro-sycthe blade," and it seems like he may also have an additional lightsaber-looking weapon hooked on his waist. Check out the image below:

It's curious how Abrams is planning to re-incorporate the Knights of Ron into the story after The Last Jedi totally ignored them. However, considering that the mysterious gang is the filmmaker's brainchild, chances are that he has a good idea on how he's going to utilize them in the film. What's curious to know is whether he's sticking to his original intentions for the characters when they were first introduced, or if he has tweaked a bit of their characterization in order to take into consideration what went down in the Rian Johnson-directed installment.

When the Knights of Ren first appeared in The Force Awakens, they seemed to be in cahoots with Kylo Ren. But in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it appears like there was a falling out between them. One year has passed since the events of The Last Jedi and that's plenty could have happened in the interim. Perhaps it's sometime between the two films that the disagreement between Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren arose. In any case, Abrams has his work cut out for him to make sure that the threequel answers all lingering plot points, while also being a satisfying end to the Skywalker saga.
