Keri Russell says her top secret character in Star Wars: Episode IX has the "coolest costume." The main Skywalker Saga of Star Wars films was relaunched in 2015 under J.J. Abrams with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and he's now returning to the franchise to close it out. He's picking up the pieces of the story told by Rian Johnson in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and in usual Abrams fashion, the secrecy surrounding the December release is high.

We do know that the story will once again center around the sequel trilogy's four main characters: Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), and Finn (John Boyega). There's plenty of built-in intrigue with them alone, as Rey is positioned to be a new Jedi leader, Kylo has taken his place as Supreme Leader of the First Order, and Poe and Finn have become more entrenched in the Resistance. The rest of the film's expansive cast also has fascinated fans too, with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) returning in some form and old footage being used to bring back Carrie Fisher one more time as Leia.

One of Star Wars 9's many new cast members is The Americans star Keri Russell, but there has so far been no details given about her role - officially. So, when Russell made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host - who is a major Star Wars fan - tried to get some details about the movie from her. She wouldn't reveal the title or confirm any of Colbert's theories, but she did comment on her mysterious character's look by saying, "I do have the coolest costume, I will say that."

Keri Russell in The Americans Series Finale

Russell is understandably hesitant to give any further details on Star Wars 9, and her lack of describing the look of her character will only leave fans wondering what she looks like even more. Almost immediately after she was cast in the role, speculation quickly turned to wanting her to play a dark side Force user or even a member of the Knights of Ren. There's also been some unsubstantiated rumors floating around that her character is a bounty hunter. Whatever the role is, all we do know is that Russell will further stand out thanks to her costume.

At this point, the best chance for any possible details on Russell's Star Wars 9 to be confirmed will be in a few weeks at Star Wars Celebration. It has already been confirmed that Star Wars 9 will get a panel of its own on Friday April 12. It is unlikely that Russell will be at the panel as her new Broadway play (which co-stars Driver) will be performing that same night in New York. Even if she is not there, the interview portion of the Star Wars: Episode IX panel could be where Abrams or even Kathleen Kennedy reveal her role, while the expected debut of the first trailer could show her in action.
