A brand new collective promo poster for Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi has emerged online. Fans are already excited for Looper director Rian Johnson's take on the famed space opera - following up on the narrative seeds planted by J.J. Abrams' 2015 Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. There has been a lot of talk regarding the upcoming saga film delving deep into characters and the murky in-between of the light and the dark side of the Force - something that has never been fully explored in the movies before. So it is only natural that fans are buzzing with anticipation as to what it will add in the storied lore.
The Last Jedi is set to debut in four months has been slowly building up the hype with several other promotional releases from Lucasfilm. The latest one from the bunch comes in a form of the nifty artwork assembling all of the main heroes together, albeit the exclusion of Carrie Fisher's General Leia Organa.
Posted on Instagram by MoviesNewsNow, the official promo art for Force Friday II features the main heroes of The Last Jedi: the three new generation heroes - Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey and Rose together with BB-8 and everyone's favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca. A shot of a troubled-looking Luke, on the other hand, looms in the background. Interestingly, Rey continues to sport Anakin's-turned-Luke's-turned hers blue lightsaber in marketing images with her mysterious and constant staff taking the backseat in terms of her choice in weaponry, at least in the meantime.
The promo poster also comes with two other artworks which provide a closer look at the film's two biggest bads, Kylo Ren and Supreme Leader Snoke in separate facial one-shot snaps. You can check out the cool images below.
Over the last recent weeks, several other promotional materials have been rolled out in light of the film's upcoming release. There is the jampacked EW feature released just earlier this month and the continued onslaught of merchandise for the movie giving fans tiny bits of details on what to exapect when The Last Jedi hits theaters. Admittedly, marketing will inadvertently reveal some information - possibly even minor spoilers for the much-anticipated flick, but Johnson and even Hamill urged fans to as much as possible avoid mulling too much on them as to preserve their cinematic experience once they finally get to see the full film.
Due this December, the film is expected to answer some of fans' burning questions that were planted in The Force Awakens. This includes some details as to the reason of Luke's self-inflicted exile that prompted him to the conclusion that the Jedi must end, as well as, information regarding Rey's parentage and why that may not be as important as originally thought. Meanwhile, the respective reveals of new game players Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo and code breaker code breaker DJ are among some of the most awaited parts of the movie.
Further, Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi is promised to be an emotional and fitting sendoff to one of the galaxy's most relentless freedom fighters, General Organa. Fisher, who tragically died towards the end of 2016, will have her last go as her iconic character in the movie and Johnson promises nothing else but a satisfying way to wrap up her story in the upcoming saga film.
