Leaked pictures of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi LEGO sets confirm rumors about the upcoming film. Star Wars fans have been chomping at the bit for new information on the highly anticipated eighth installment of the saga starring the newest heroes (and villains) of the galaxy: Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren (aka Ben Solo), Oscar Isaac as Poe. Plus, Mark Hamill and the late Carrie Fisher are reprising their roles as Luke and Leia, respectively, and newcomers Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro in their mysterious new roles as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo and DJ.
Just after Vanity Fair launched it's four stunning covers of the cast and an in-depth look at The Last Jedi, a new leak has emerged from none other than LEGO with a first look at The Last Jedi LEGO set, which reveals some exciting new details and confirms some rumors about walkers, robes and more in the upcoming film.
According to Making Star Wars, which took a close look at each of the Instagram photos that were leaked, many rumors previously discussed on the site were confirmed including the return of the infamous walkers which were originally thought to be called “gorilla walkers" in the new film. Now, thanks to LEGO, it's confirmed that the walkers will actually be called “First Order Heavy Assault Walkers” (you can see a glimpse of these walking-weapons in the teaser trailer during the horizon of the Crait shot). The walkers also have similar markings as the Executioner Stormtroopers that will be featured in the film. Here is a look at the LEGO set of the First Order Heavy Assault Walkers:
The LEGO set has also confirmed that Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order played by Andy Serkis will be wearing a gold silky robe in The Last Jedi as previously reported on the Supreme Leader's new look. Here is a look at the LEGO set for the First Order Star Destroyer (which is not called the "Mega Destroyer"as previously speculated) and features Snoke:
The last major bit of information we got from the LEGO leak is the confirmation of "evil" BB units featured in The Last Jedi. A look at the new BB units can also be found in the First Order Star Destroyer LEGO set and features an all black BB unit quite opposite of BB-8.
Other interesting tidbits we received from the LEGO leak is that Poe is now going to be called “Captain Poe Dameron”, Vice Admiral Holdo has a new grey outfit different from her usual formal wear and there is a gunner from the resistance named Paige who is Rose Tico's sister. Rose, who will be played by Kelly Marie Tran, is a maintenance worker for the resistance who has been confirmed to have a major part to play regarding Finn's storyline.
Update: Designs for the backs of the sets, showing off play features, have also surfaced.
