The new looks for returning characters Kylo Ren and Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi are showcased in an image for the upcoming Battlefront II video game. There's arguably never been a more exciting time to be a Star Wars fan, as the galaxy far, far away has a huge presence in several forms of media. In addition to the ongoing blockbuster film franchise, people fan follow the property on TV, by reading books, and playing video games. This fall sees the release of Star Wars: Battlefront II, which is poised to be a marked improvement over its rushed predecessor.

One of the main selling points of the Battlefront series is the ability to play as some of the most popular Star Wars characters. With the sequel spanning the three eras of the Skywalker saga, that means some of the latest additions to the franchise will be available, including Kylo Ren and Rey. Gamers who opt to preorder the title now will receive themed looks and abilities based on the upcoming Episode VIII, and promotional artwork offers a detailed look at the costumes for the two powerful Force users.

First appearing on Reddit (hat tip Star Wars News Net), the picture also provides a rundown of what each will be capable of in the game. Kylo can freeze and pull enemies with the Force and has a modifier for a "First Order hero ship." When playing as Rey, gamers can control the minds of opponents (similar to a Jedi mind trick), and she also comes with a modifier to upgrade the Millennium Falcon. There's no telling on if these abilities are inspired by specific scenes from The Last Jedi, since they are similar to what was shown in The Force Awakens. You can check out the picture below:

Kylo's attire has previously been reported on, and this photo confirms that he will sport a Darth Vader-esque cape in the new movie. Interestingly enough, the former Ben Solo is without his trademark mask, calling into question how often he'll wear it this time around. A shot from the Last Jedi teaser trailer showed the helmet smashed into several pieces, so it stands reason to believe the Dark Side apprentice will lose it completely at some point. Rey's new costume was hinted at in merchandise box artwork, and now viewers have a better idea of how the full outfit will look. It's reminiscent of her get-up she wore on Jakku, only the browns are a shade darker - resembling the Jedi robes seen in the prequels. Both have their lightsabers in hand, teasing the possibility of another duel between the two.

Of course, this will hardly be the only time Kylo Ren and Rey's fresh duds are highlighted in Last Jedi promotion. Any glimpses at the characters in the trailer were extremely brief, but there are still about eight months to go until the film's premiere, meaning there are a bevy of TV spots, a full trailer, and tie-in toys on the way that will provide plenty for fans to analyze. For now, just the short tease is enough to whet appetites as the heroine and villain take the next steps in their journey. Costumes, apparently, are all part of their respective evolutions.
