Star Wars continues its spoiler light marketing campaign for The Last Jedi with a new teaser comprised of mostly new footage. While we have a rough idea of some of the events of The Last Jedi, the full plot is a closely guarded secret and many of the teases already shown appear to be some form of misdirection, we do know that Rey will be training with Luke on Ahch-To, Leia, Poe, and the Resistance flee the base on D'Qar for Crait, Finn and newcomer Rose will go on an undercover mission, and the First Order will press its attack, but outside of those large brush strokes, most details and how it all ties together is still a complete mystery.

This new footage brings a number of moments that are sure to tantalize fans without giving away much more about the plot, from our first look at Luke on the Millenium Falcon since The Empire Strikes Back, a full look at Snoke's ominous, red throne room lined with his praetorian guards, Finn piloting a ski speeder on Crait during a battle, ending with a scene that, as we recently speculated, might suggest Rey actually faces off against Luke at one point.

Is this just more tricky editing and misdirection, or could Rey's relationship with Luke end up being even more complicated than we thought? It looks like The Last Jedi is still hiding a number of secrets after all.

In terms of dialogue, most of it is the same as we've heard from the last trailer, with the addition of Supreme Leader Snoke saying "Darkness rises, and light to meet it." With so much mystery around his origins and intent, it's a hard line to interpret. He's not Sith, but he does appear to wield the dark side of the Force, but the visual dictionary for The Force Awakens says that he values Kylo Ren specifically because he's a "focal point of both light and dark side ability" adding even more nuance to what this line could mean.

It's pretty clear that The Last Jedi will be exploring themes of identity and playing with concepts of good and evil. Between Luke wanting to end the Jedi, the suggestion that Rey might form an alliance of sorts with Kylo Ren, and the tease of a Rey vs Luke fight, misdirection or not, Rian Johnson is clearly trying to prepare fans for a movie that tests their understanding of the Jedi, the light side, and the dark side.
