[UPDATE: This has seemingly been confirmed via a tweet from ESPN Caribbean, saying there will be a Force Awakens reveal during the Monday Night Football game on October 19]

It's been quite a long time since the last trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out. In fact, the last trailer for the film - which was technically just the second teaser - hit the interwebs exactly six months ago. While it did reveal quite a bit - including our very first look at Harrison Ford back in the iconic role of Han Solo - there is still a lot we have yet to see from The Force Awakens.

The first thing that comes to mind, of course, are siblings Luke (Mark Hamill) and Leia Skywalker (Carrie Fisher), who have been absent from most marketing thus far. Then again, the behind-the-scenes footage that debuted at SDCC 2015 featured a brief look at Fisher as Leia, yet it did not reveal any particular details about her role in the film.

Thankfully, it seems fans may not have to wait much longer to get a look at Luke and Leia in The Force Awakens. That is, if they appear in the next trailer - which, as io9 reports, is set to debut this coming Monday, October 19th, sometime around 8 p.m. EST. This falls in line with previous reports that the new trailer was coming on the 19th, which also said that this would be the final trailer for the film (not including any TV spots).

Before the new trailer comes out on Monday, however, a new poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released Sunday morning. Following the trailer's release on Monday, tickets will be made available very soon after, roughly around 8:30 EST, to coincide with the new footage. The tickets that go on sale that day, which will be available for most (if not all) ticketing sites and theaters, will be for screenings starting on December 17th at 7 p.m. and running all the way through January 3rd.

Star Wars 7 The Force Awakens Captain Phasma

That's far from all though, as a seven-movie marathon - featuring all of the Prequel Trilogy, the Original Trilogy, and finally The Force Awakens - will also be a very enticing option for longtime fans on December 17th as well. Although, the festivities will begin bright and early at 4 a.m., and the screening of The Force Awakens isn't actually set to begin till 7 p.m. - meaning it's going to take a high level of commitment to make it through the whole marathon.

Now that we know when the new trailer for The Force Awakens is set to come out, the obvious question is what will it include. As it was mentioned earlier, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that Luke and Leia will likely be in it - if only for quick shots that tease their presence in the film. But there's also a lot of the new cast we have yet to see in any footage, including Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke, Lupita Nyong'o's Maz Kanata, and Domhnall Gleeson's General Hux, just to name a few. While it's possible that Lucasfilm could end up saving their reveals for the film itself, it's very likely that the final trailer for The Force Awakens will reveal at least a few new characters.

Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th, 2015, followed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16th, 2016, Star Wars: Episode 8 on May 26th, 2017, and the Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film on May 25th, 2018. Star Wars: Episode 9 is expected to reach theaters in 2019, followed by the third Star Wars Anthology film in 2020.
