It seems like ever yday that passes and every day that fans get closer to the December release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, there’s a new treat waiting to be devoured, along with a host of new questions. With ticket pre-sales already obliterating past record holders like The Hunger GamesThe Force Awakens is likely one of the most hotly anticipated films in the history of cinema - and for good reason.

To date, Disney and Lucasfilm's The Force Awakens marketing campaign has for the most part, been very carefully conceived of and guarded at all ends. No tie-in products that could potentially offer too much information or spoilers about the film have been permitted to see the light of day. Fans are left in a constant state of wonder as to when the next big highlight will reveal itself for consideration. Today has now proved itself to be one of those special days.

True to form, Disney has once again dangled some tantalising Star Wars treats over its hungry fanbase, and this time they come in the form of five brand spanking new character posters. Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Rey (Daisy Ridler), Finn (John Boyega), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and princess of all princesses, Leia (Carrie Fisher) are each featured on their own character poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Unfortunately, the posters don’t give anything away about the film’s plot, but they do continue to stoke the fires of what has thus far been quite the build-up of anticipation.

Though Disney, director JJ Abrams and the rest of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens crew have kept quiet regarding the film’s plot, what is known is that The Force Awakens will take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Familiar characters, including also Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), will all return. Most recently the internet was alive with rumours that 30 years since the fireworks and cheers that celebrated the victory over the Dark Side have not necessarily brought happiness. Serious questions have been raised as to what is going on in a galaxy far, far away, so many years after Emperor Palpatine's demise.

With all the excitement and hype building on a daily basis, fans can literally feel the energy that this film is already giving off. Call it the Force, call it just sheer anticipation times a million – whatever it is, it’s going to be huge and the smart bet is on Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens being the sort of film that fans have long been waiting for and deserved.
