Nero vs. Klingons In This Star Trek Deleted Scene

To help build excitement for the upcoming release of Star Trek on DVD and Blu-ray, Paramount has released a deleted scene that will be a bonus feature on the home video release of the franchise's rebirth installment.

This scene is part of the story where Nero (Eric Bana) is held captive by Klingons and interrogated about his knowledge of the future and of the Federation. You'll definitely recognize one line from the trailer where Nero states "The wait is over" which wasn't a part of the theatrical release of the film. For Trek fans out there, you'll also notice another special something from classic Trek lore.

Check the video out after the jump.

I wish this scene and the rest of this plot point of the story had been featured in the movie to help make it make more sense. There was no explanation in the film of what Nero was doing for decades in the background while waiting for Spock to arrive, nor an explanation of how they knew when and where his arrival would take place.

Note the face armor to conceal how the Klingons actually would look in J.J. Abrams' Trek universe. I expect we'll be seeing this fan-favorite race in Star Trek 2.

What do you think of this scene and would you like Klingons to be a big part of the next Trek movie(s)?

J.J. Abrams' Star Trek beams on to home video November 17, 2009.
