Star Trek: Discovery season 3 video offers a better look at the new Starfleet logo. The CBS All Access series is one of several Star Trek shows either in progress or in development at the streamer. Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard are two of CBS All Access' most popular shows, with Discovery season 4 and Picard seasons 2 and 3 already in the works. The future of the Star Trek movies may be up in the air, but plans on the TV side have rarely been this solid.

Star Trek: Discovery season 3 premieres this week. Season 2 ended in April 2019, so viewers have had a long wait. There were some concerns season 3 may be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but luckily, post-production was able to continue remotely. CBS All Access has already released trailers and clips from Star Trek: Discovery season 3. A recent look at the upcoming season premiere showed Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) going to the 32nd century in her Red Angel suit. Images from season 3 episode 1 further teased some new aliens. Additionally, back in August, a cast photo of Martin-Green revealed a new, future Starfleet logo, though it was a little hard to make out at the time.

Now, thanks to a new Star Trek: Discovery season 3 video, viewers have a better idea of what the insignia looks like. Star Trek on CBS All Access shared the clip via its Twitter account. The video shows the new title sequence for the upcoming season. However, most importantly, the clip provides a detailed look at the new Starfleet logo. Check it out below:

Though it isn't the first time viewers have seen the logo, Martin-Green's cast photo showed it in pin form and at a distance. The video offers a much better view of the insignia, which gives fans an idea of what to expect when they see it within the show. The new logo represents Star Trek: Discovery's move to the future, as evidenced by its unique oval shape.

Considering the events of the season 2 finale, it will be interesting to see what happens in season 3. Though much has been teased, other aspects of the plot are completely unknown, which should make for a fun series of episodes. From the new logo's prominent placement in the Star Trek: Discovery season 3 title sequence, it seems the show is fully committed to exploring its time in the future.
