When the young woman named Ripley Ryan was revealed to secretly be the supervillain Star -- a younger, better Captain Marvel -- her incredible journey was only beginning. Now Star is more than a supervillain, or even a superhero. She's been chosen as host for The Reality Stone, granting her power unparalleled across the universe. Assuming it doesn't get her killed first.

Ripley will be turning to Marvel's other most well-known reality-warper, the Scarlet Witch, when Star #2 arrives this February. But before then, both Ripley and the readers are going to find out just what her intentions with such awesome power really are. So with Star's nefarious (but desperate and manipulated) past, and the possibility to do incredible things with her new power, what new path will she end up walking? The official preview from Marvel Comics has thankfully given a glimpse. And it may not be the 'origin' story that Captain Marvel fans expect.

The larger questions concerning the Reality Stone in her chest -- why her? What powers have changed? How can Ripley actually control them? -- will be explored in her actual Star comic series). But in her first solo pages, it appears that a smelly bar, and a daring fistfight are all the glory that awaits Ripley in this strange new world. Take a look below:

Writer Kelly Thompson assured fans that there was a plan for Star that fans might not understand in the meantime, and the Reality Stone twist was the payoff. But until the issue arrives, read on below for the solicitation details and plot synopsis.
