Sylvester Stallone Isn't Sure He'll Return For Tulsa King Season 2

Sylvester Stallone hints at Tulsa King season 2 as production wraps on season 1. The legendary actor has been hard at work on Tulsa King, filming on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Taylor Sheridan-created Paramount Plus series since March. The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire producer Terence Winter is the showrunner for Tulsa King, which follows Stallone's Dwight 'The General' Manfredi, a Mafioso who is freshly released from prison and sent to Tulsa to start a new crew while adapting to a whole new environment.

Tulsa King features an all-star line-up, including Dana Delaney, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Andrea Savage, Dashiell Connery, Garrett Hedlund, Annabella Sciora, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Travis Quentin, Tatiana Zappardino, and Hartleigh Buwick. Trailers, images, and BTS featurettes for Tulsa King have thus far shown a compelling gangster series that merges the genre with westerns, making for a new twist on familiar territory. Tulsa King serves as the 76-year-old Stallone's first-ever venture into scripted TV.

Stallone recently shared a video taken at a wrap party for Tulsa King season 1 in which he gives a hint that there's more to come. While giving a brief speech, Stallone says, "Keep punching, love you guys, see you next season!" This is the first indication that Tulsa King would be continuing beyond a single season, although nothing has been officially confirmed by Paramount Plus or Sheridan. Typically, most shows wait to see how season 1 performs before talking about a season 2, but Stallone certainly seems confident. Watch Stallone's video below:

In addition to dropping the brief hint on Tulsa King season 2, Stallone also championed the production and the show, saying, "I never worked so hard in my life and had so much fun." The legendary actor went on to laud the cast and crew, saying, "You guys are pros, I'm proud to be here, and I think what we came up with was something extraordinary and life-changing for me." Stallone has been heavily-praised for his involvement on the show thus far, with executive producer David Glasser calling him "an incredible collaborator" who always "takes it up one more notch that you didn't think was possible."

Fans of Stallone are certainly excited to see what the actor will bring to Tulsa King, but as with any new show, it can be a wait-and-see in terms of how long it will actually run. Sheridan has been on a roll with his original shows on Paramount Plus and shows no signs of slowing down with many more on the way, including Tulsa King, which is the first big test outside of Yellowstone and The Mayor of Kingstown. With so many ingredients for something special, most notably Stallone leading a mafia-western series from one of the strongest voices in TV at the moment, Stallone clearly has high hopes for a renewal and it's entirely possible he knows something that hasn't been made public yet. Tulsa King will premiere after Yellowstone Season 5 on November 13th on Paramount Plus.
