Warning: Contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6.The latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law introduced Marvel mutant Mr. Immortal, which means that a Squirrel Girl appearance could happen in the future. Craig Hollis, also known as Mr. Immortal, appears in She-Hulk episode 6 to seek legal counsel from Jennifer Walters’ co-workers. As his name suggests, Mr. Immortal can’t die, and he has been using his power to be a con-man, where he marries people and then fakes his death.

However, unlike his portrayal in the show, Mr. Immortal is entirely different in the comics, where he leads the superhero team, the Great Lakes Avengers. Compared to other superhero teams in Marvel, the Great Lakes Avengers act primarily comic relief for readers. The team spends the majority of their time latching onto famous superheroes as a means to become more well known, which leads them to be openly mocked, just as as Mr. Immortal is in She-Hulk episode 6. Other members of the Great Lakes Avengers include Flatman, Doorman, and, more famously, Squirrel Girl.

Squirrel Girl has been a fan favorite to appear in the MCU for years, and the introduction of Mr. Immortal in She-Hulk might mean that her arrival is imminent. While Squirrel Girl was considered one of Marvel's goofier characters when she first appeared, she has developed quite a following, with fancasting suggestions being common for the MCU. During her run, Squirrel Girl has become an Avenger multiple times, defeated Doctor Doom and Thanos, and also considers Deadpool to be her idol.

Why Mr. Immortal Could Open The Door To Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl cooks in the kitchen in Marvel Comics.

Not only do Mr. Immortal and Squirrel Girls' ties to the Great Lake Avengers pave the way for her MCU debut, but they were also set to appear in another canceled Marvel show together. The pair were announced to appear in Freeform’s New Warriors TV series, with Squirrel Girl cast as the main character despite not being a part of the team in the comics. Therefore, the fact that the pair have always been associated with each other and almost shared the same screen before, it wouldn’t be foolish to assume that the same could happen again.

While Mr. Immortals' debut in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law differs from his comic book counterpart, the overall tone of his character alongside She-Hulk shows that the MCU is no longer afraid of being more whacky than in the past. In fact, the comical nature of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law shows that an animated Squirrel Girl series could be perfect for the MCU. At this point, while the MCU might make some changes to Squirrel Girl as they have Mr. Immortal, her arrival is long overdue.
