Netflix’s Squid Game has gotten the Honest Trailer treatment in a new video spoofing the smash-hit Korean drama. Since its initial release, Squid Game has become number one on Netflix in numerous countries, including the U.S. The show’s unique blend of stylish visual aesthetics and brutal social commentary on the inherent violence of capitalism has become quite a popular combo, shooting Squid Game to the top of the streaming charts. However, not even such a well-respected show is above being spoofed on YouTube.

Of course, Squid Game’s story isn’t without its inherent humor, though most of it is of the darker variety. The games that make up most of the show are absurdist nightmares, blending the lightness and frivolity of childhood play with brutal violence. Squid Game’s bright colors – mostly those often associated with youth – become warped and twisted by their context, adding to the show’s grotesque nature. It’s not a dark comedy explicitly, but the scenarios are so perverse that Squid Game often steps into that territory.

However, for those looking for humor that’s a little lighter, there’s the new Squid Game Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies. The video follows the popular YouTube series’ standard format, poking fun at most Americans’ lack of exposure to Korean cinema, Squid Game Halloween costumes, the glorification of Seoul National University, and more. In the video, Squid Game’s global popularity is as much the subject of the comedy as the story of the show itself. Specifically, there are jokes about how little frame of reference many of the series’ American fans have for Squid Game’s cultural context, with many comparing it to Parasite for lack of having seen any other recent Korean films or TV shows. The actual plot and characters of Squid Game do get some jokes thrown at their own expense, but the series has become so widely acclaimed that it’s not surprising to see even Honest Trailers struggling to find much real criticism to latch onto.

Now that the series has become such an unparalleled success, the big question is whether or not a Squid Game season 2 will happen, and when. The show certainly leaves plenty of storylines hanging, and there’s a lot about the nature of the games themselves that could be explored through additional seasons. For now, though, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has said that he doesn’t want to think about Squid Game season 2 just yet.
