Just in case Spotify fans haven’t had their fill of their Wrapped results yet, they can take the extra step in showing appreciation for their favorite music acts by getting their hands on official artist merchandise through the app. The audio-streaming service makes it easy for people to support their idols by letting them see what their respective online stores have to offer, may it be clothing, accessories, posters, or various physical formats of their albums. With this, along with a feed to stay on top of live events, Spotify is positioning itself as a one-stop shop for everything music-related.

Spotify listeners can check out a special section on the app that collates all their top artists’ exclusive merchandise in one place. Shoppers can go through items for each of their favorite singers by tapping ‘Show all’ next to the artist's name and hitting the ‘Buy Now’ button’ on any piece they wish to purchase. When an item is clicked on, the user is redirected to the artist’s own online store and will be required to type in their contact, shipping, and payment information. In addition, many also have express checkout options like PayPal or Google Pay.

Go On A Shopping Spree In Your Top Artists' Stores

Spotify Top Artist Merch Buy Now Page

For now, it seems like Spotify users can only hit ‘Buy Now’ on one item before being led to the online shop’s checkout page. If they try going back to the artist’s merch page on Spotify and choosing a different product, it redirects to yet another checkout page with only one item.

In case fans would like to binge-buy products in one go and fully represent their favorite acts, they can take a look at the URL link of the checkout page, remove all the characters that come after ‘myshopify.com/’, and press the enter button on their device. This will delete the item previously added via Spotify from the cart, but the users will be able to browse through a more expansive collection of their artists' products and pick multiple items for purchase.

Even though Spotify makes it easy for music fans to add to the success of their top listens by providing a shopping experience, the platform does not seem to take a cut from sales. On the other hand, the artist’s online store may provide Spotify with details relating to orders made on the third-party site, which the music service may use to better analyze listener preferences and potentially improve future features. Still, it provides yet another avenue for artists to multiply their revenue opportunities.
