Spotify, one of the world's largest music streaming services on the market, now supports 62 total languages. As part of its Stream On event back in February 2021, Spotify announced that one of its goals for the year was to make its app available to as many users as possible — through a combination of additional languages and new markets. Those are two big challenges to overcome, but they're also essential in Spotify's quest to keep beating out the likes of Apple Music, Pandora, etc.

That's far from an easy task, especially considering that the market for music streaming gets more ruthless all the time. Spotify, however, seems to be up to the challenge. In addition to its expansion into new markets and offering support for more languages, Spotify also recently announced a new Spotify Hifi service that'll finally bring high-fidelity streaming to the service, something that competitors like Tidal and Amazon Prime Music have offered for some time.

This is in addition to the other languages Spotify already supports, which include English, Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Hungarian, Czech, German, Spanish, International Spanish, Finnish, French, Canadian French, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Malay, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

How To Change Language In The Spotify App

Having support for so many different languages is really exciting to see, and lucky for users that find themselves needing to change languages for whatever reason, doing so for Spotify is quite simple. Starting first with the Spotify desktop app for Mac and Windows, click the arrow next to the profile icon in the upper-right corner. From the menu that appears, click 'Settings.' On the Settings page, click the dropdown menu under the Language header and select any language from the list. Once the new language has been selected, users need to log out and log back into their account for the change to take effect.

To change the Spotify language on mobile, this is done by changing the system language for the phone itself. On an iPhone, this can be done by opening the Settings app, scrolling down the page, and tapping 'General.' Then tap 'Language & Region,' then 'iPhone Language' to select the preferred one. To view a full list of languages beyond ones that are officially supported on iOS, tap 'Other Languages.' To change the device language on an Android phone, the process is fairly similar. Open the Settings app, scroll down, and tap 'System.' Then tap 'Language & input,' Languages,' and tap 'Add a language.'
