Spontaneous stars Katherine Langford and Charlie Plummer, so how do you know them and the supporting cast? Now streaming on Hulu and Amazon Prime, the critically-acclaimed horror film takes place in a world where teenagers spontaneously explode. Brian Duffield's Spontaneous begins as a coming-of-age romantic comedy but then shifts to a character study about grief and self-care.

In Spontaneous, 31 seniors at Covington High School explode over the course of several months. After the first student dies, Dylan Hovemeyer (Plummer) decides that he wants to admit his true feelings for secret crush Mara Carlyle (Langford). The young lovers bond through a shared sense of humor yet become increasingly distressed by bloody student explosions at school. Spontaneous follows Dylan and Mara as they attempt to live in the moment, and try not worry about what could go wrong.
