As the characters are cherished by fans, many of them have seen fan art redesigns. Patrick is no stranger to love and adoration, with the ignorant but hilarious starfish remaining a fan favorite. Check out the work these talented artists have done to honor their favorite starfish, Patrick Star.

3D Patrick

The television show SpongeBob SquarePants is done in traditional 2D animation. That will soon change though, with the upcoming movie The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run moving to 3D CGI style animation.

This fan art, done by David Alvarez uses a different form of 3D animation to make Patrick appear more lifelike. An insane amount of talent is required to complete a work of this magnitude. There are several different textures flawlessly executed, from Patrick's skin to his clothing to the blades of grass on which he stands. The picture also includes layers of images that provide additional perspective to the graphic.

Trippy Patrick Star

This artist chose to completely redesign Patrick. When considering Patrick and SpongeBob's high energy and overall demeanor, it's not difficult to imagine that these two might be under the influence of a substance or two. There have even been several scenes in the show that were rather trippy.

It's fitting then, that Patrick receives a psychedelic redesign. A great amount of work and detail went into crafting an entirely new version of this beloved starfish while maintaining some of his signature elements, such as his shorts.

Snuggly Patrick

Patrick and SpongeBob have a beautiful friendship. The two care deeply for each other and it's clear they will be best friends forever. This piece of art creates a warm and cuddly feeling,  SpongeBob and Patrick seem softer.

They are wearing oversized matching sweaters and enjoying each other's company. Seeing this picture will instantly make fans want to call their BFF.

The Joys Of Jellyfishing

Patrick is rarely given his own agency. He often is seen following along with SpongeBob's plans. In this picture, the artist has allowed Patrick to enjoy his hobby of jellyfishing independently.

He looks happy and proud of himself, proving that he doesn't need SpongeBob around to enjoy his life.

Did I Do This Right?

Patrick is many things, but 'intelligent' is not one of the words that would be used to describe this pink starfish. In fact, he is known for being spectacularly dumb. This is not for lack of trying though.

What Patrick lacks in intelligence he makes up for in confidence. It seems likely that Patrick would get himself into this kind of situation. Perhaps this is why the furniture in Patrick's apartment is so scarce.

Patrick Monroe

It is always fun to combine the image of an iconic celebrity with the image of a fan-favorite character. In this fan art by Samantha Weitzel, Patrick is given a Marilyn Monroe makeover.

Patrick has been known to wear some interesting outfits and even dressed as a woman in the episode "That's No Lady." It's easy for fans to imagine that Patrick would enjoy wearing this classy outfit around Bikini Bottom.

Wumbo Patrick

Worthikids has made it clear that they are an avid fan of Patrick Star. His love for the character is obvious in his drawing as Patrick wears a necklace sporting the word "wumbo."

True fans of Patrick Star will remember the word as Patrick berated SpongeBob for not knowing the word. This word has taken on a life of his own with fan art, songs, and articles devoted to the "study of wumbology." There was even a petition started by fans to get the term added to the dictionary!

Staryu Patrick

This fan art by xurepatoon is clever as it combines two favorite characters from two widely popular cartoons. Staryu is from the popular series Pokémon

This water-type Pokémon is the only starfish to compete with Patrick for the title of most famous starfish in the world. This is a rare pokémon that all would want to catch!

Power Post Patrick

Patrick Star has many memorable scenes. One of the most memorable was the time Patrick wore fishnets and high heeled boots and began dancing. This scene has been revisited over and over by fans. There is even a viral video of someone pole dancing while dressed up as Patrick Star, black high heeled boots and all.

Of course, this popularity has led to several fan art depictions of this moment. In this fan art by cierrawesome, Patrick shows off his legs by standing in the power pose, wearing his much-admired getup.

Jelly Bean Patrick

This piece of fan art is extremely original. This creator exclusively redesigns characters as jellybeans. This depiction of Patrick as a jellybean is absolutely adorable.

Fans will want to pick him up and snuggle him. It seems Patrick is aware of this as well and is not happy about his lack of control over the situation.
