Here's every song on the soundtrack for hit 2015 sequel The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water. SpongeBob SquarePants was the brainchild of the late Stephen Hillenburg, with many of the concepts coming from a comic he created called The Intertidal Zone. This comic was an educational tool from his time teaching marine biology, which eventually evolved into the beloved Nickelodeon show. SpongeBob SquarePants was something of an instant hit when it first aired back in 1999, thanks to its great comic writing, loveable characters, colorful art style and the voice work of the cast.

SpongeBob SquarePants became a major franchise, quickly spawning toys, various video games and the 2004 The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which attracted guest stars like Scarlett Johansson and David Hasselhoff. The franchise faced a major turning point following the movie, as Stephen Hillenburg wished to end the show before it ran out of steam. Since it was - and still remains - a license to print money, he instead stepped down as showrunner but retained a producing credit. Fans of the show are mixed on later series as a result, feeling the wit of the original seasons was lost.

Stephen Hillenburg eventually returned to the franchise, which included co-writing the story for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water. The sequel's plot sees SpongeBob, Patrick and the rest of the gang team up to stop Antonio Bandaras' villainous pirate Burger Beard, which involves going to the real-world too. Here's a list of every song featured in the movie.

Squeeze Me - N.E.R.D

Patrick Star - N.E.R.D

Sandy Squirrel - N.E.R.D

Teamwork - Tom Kenny & Doug Lawrence

Thank Gosh It's Monday - Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Doug Lawrence & Bill Fagerbakke

N.E.R.D provided three original songs for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, including the catchy little number "Squeeze Me." These tracks and the other two songs "Teamwork" and "Thank Gosh It's Monday" - which doesn't appear in the movie as the scene featuring the song was deleted - were compiled for an EP titled Music from The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. John Debney (The Greatest Showman) also composed the score for the sequel, which was given a solo digital release in March 2015.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water was a big hit, and another sequel titled The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run will be released in 2021. The film will also feature appearances from Snoop Dogg, Awkwafina and Keanu Reeves.
