Splatoon 3 is fresh off the hook, but this new game didn't forget to reel in old favorites from previous installments, like the Power Armor. Little overall has changed about this classic piece of equipment, there is a noticeable visual improvement from the first game, but it retains the original look and style.

The Power Armor, and the rest of the gear set, are 2-star items from the Amiibo brand. Each piece of armor comes with its own main ability, the Boots have Ink Saver, while the Armor comes with Quick Respawn. The Power Mask also returns with the Sub-Resistance Up ability.

Each piece of clothing also has two secondary ability slots and by using Super Snails players can unlock a third slot, giving them an edge in matches and against tough bosses like Shiver in Splatoon 3. Since the Power Gear Set as a whole is from the Amiibo brand, it can come with any secondary ability.

Squid Amiibo Rewards in Splatoon 3

Splatoon Power Armor

The Power Gear, including the Power Armor, is obtained by scanning in the first green or orange Squid Inkling Amiibo into the game. The purple Squid Inkling Amiibo will reward players with the Power Gear MK I, not the Power Gear armor. To scan these in, players must find an amiibo box in Splatsville main square. Once the player follows the prompts from the Amiibo box and scans in an Amiibo that squid should appear.

After speaking with the Amiibo character the player may have been told that they're not "fresh enough" for the rest of the gear set. To obtain the gear, players must complete matches of Turf Wars in Splatoon 3. After a few matches return to the Amiibo and speak to them to obtain a new piece of the Power Gear set starting with the Boots and ending with the Power Mask. This is the only method of getting the Power Armor as it cannot be purchased from Murch like regular clothing. This Power Armor is a great way to look fresh and splat opponents in Splatoon 3.

    Summary:
"Are you a kid, or are you a squid?" Splatoon 3 continues the newest successful franchise from Nintendo. Moving away from the old hubs of Inkopolis and the Splatlands, Splatoon 3 throws players into the bustling city of Splatsville, where they'll mingle with other inklings, collect new outfits and upgrade weapons as they traverse the game. Players are outfitted with ink-based guns and melee weapons where they "splat" their opponents with their ink color. Players can also submerge in their ink to escape or traverse maps faster. Additionally, the usual modes all return more fleshed out than ever, with Story mode taking more of the center stage this time with a robust adventure mode. In addition, the co-operative horde-like mode Salmon run returns, as does the standard team-based 4v4 multiplayer modes that popularized the franchise. Splatoon 3 was released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on September 9 2022.
