In Spin Me Round, the main character, Amber, travels to attend the institute of the restaurant where she works, and she falls in love with the creepy owner Nick. Alison Brie co-wrote the movie because of toxic dating experiences. The film has a perfect, peaceful setting of Florence, Italy and a love interest who is full of flaws. Amber's journey is emotional and difficult and it's also compelling seeing Amber become good friends with Kat, played by Aubrey Plaza.

The movie's tone changes abruptly when Kate goes missing and Beth delves into what happened.
Both films leave audiences hanging on every scene as the truth isn't obvious and fans want to see if Beth will be okay and if Amber will go back home and move on from her awful experience.

The romance at the core of the movie is healthier than in Spin Me Round, but the movies do share a beautiful setting in common, along with main characters tapping into inner strength. It's a juicy and fast-paced story that is pure fun.

Diane Lane shines in Under The Tuscan Sun as Frances Mayes, who travels to Tuscany after struggling with a terrible divorce. Frances has new experiences and finds more peace with who she is, and by the end of the film, she learns that she's more comfortable being on her own than she ever thought.
Just as Frances makes new friends, Amber becomes close with Kat at the institute, and the friendship allows her to see that something is definitely wrong and that she has to figure out how to get out.
Paradise Hills (2019)

Emma Roberts has many memorable roles, including Uma in Paradise Hills, a thriller that focuses on a seriously creepy island called Paradise that she is unable to leave. The movie is beautiful to look at and succeeds in creating an alarming place where no one would want to be stuck.
Both Uma in Paradise Hills and Amber in Spin Me Round find themselves in pretty places but dealing with terrible people with dark secrets and bad intentions. The movies are reminders that what looks perfect often isn't.
Murder Mystery (2019)

Murder Mystery is a fun thriller set in Europe, as Audry and Nick Spitz celebrate 15 years of marriage and head on a vacation that Audrey has been dreaming of for a long time. The couple meets new people and all seems to be going well, but then someone is killed and the mystery kicks into high gear.
Murder Mystery is great for fans of Spin Me Round as both stories go in directions that aren't clear or expected. The Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler-starring film is much funnier, though, as there are no toxic love interests here.
Good On Paper (2021)

Iliza Shlesinger wrote and stars in the 2021 comedy film Good On Paper, which tells the tale of a new romance that seems bright, fresh and promising but ultimately is heartbreaking and disappointing. The film seems to have a charming meet-cute as Andrea Singer sits next to Dennis Kelley on a plane and they feel sparks.
Good On Paper has hilarious quotes and offers a smart look at a partner who pretends to be someone else, along with a main character who does everything she can to keep her strong sense of self. Like Amber in Spin Me Round, Andrea finds herself falling for someone who is incredibly wrong for her and who can't stop lying.
Love & Gelato (2022)

Love & Gelato, based on the young adult book by Jenna Evans Welch, has a happier and more peaceful storyline than Spin Me Round, but both movies take place in Italy and are enjoyable to watch thanks to that fabulous setting.
Lina's mom has gotten sick and wants Lina to experience Rome before she starts a new life at college and officially becomes an adult. Anyone looking for a heartwarming, light story will love this one and Lina dives deep into the experience, which is sweet to see after the pain that she has gone through.
