Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home

A fan of Spider-Man: No Way Home has drawn a hyper-realistic portrait of Zendaya’s Michelle Jones/MJ in a time-lapse video. Since her days on the Disney Channel, the 25-year-old multi-hyphenate has appeared in The Greatest Showman, Dune, Malcolm & Marie, HBO’s hit drama Euphoria — a performance for which she won an Emmy — and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Zendaya made her MCU debut alongside Tom Holland in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming. She recently reprised her role as MJ in the hugely successful threequel, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

As the follow-up to Spider-Man: Far From Home, No Way Home sees Peter Parker dealing with the world finding out he’s Spider-Man. Now a divisive figure accused of Mysterio’s murder, Peter's life, and the lives of his loved ones, become increasingly difficult. Therefore, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man goes to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help. Strange's subsequent memory spell ends up cracking open the multiverse, bringing Spidey villains Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), and Lizard (Rhys Ifans) into the MCU. Thankfully, Peter fixes all this with the help of some familiar webslingers, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and, of course, his girlfriend MJ. Both Ned and MJ play key roles in the dramatic third battle of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men face off against the villains.

In honor of Spider-Man: No Way Home, artist Cormac Sketches recently shared a time-lapse portrait video of Zendaya as MJ on YouTube. The hyper-realistic portrayal was done with colored pencils and resembles her look in the recent film. Across the video, which is cut to just three-and-a-half minutes long, the artist creates an impressive, true-to-life version of Zendaya's beloved character. Check it out below:

With each film in Jon Watts’ Homecoming trilogy, MJ has played an increasingly prominent role. After being the sardonic friend in Spider-Man: Homecoming, she learned Peter’s secret in Far From Home and became his girlfriend. In No Way Home, MJ is a source of support and strength while Peter learns the meaning of the phrase “with great power comes great responsibility.” Near the end of the film, Strange casts a final spell, which makes the world forget Peter Parker. Peter promises MJ he’ll find her and Ned after the spell takes root and refresh their memories. However, Peter ultimately decides to break this promise, believing his friends will be better off without him.

Cormac Sketches' MJ piece is certainly impressive, and many fans are hoping that No Way Home doesn't prove the last MCU film to be the subject of artwork based on the character. Spider-Man: No Way Home’s script (as well as the broken Black Dahlia necklace Michelle Jones wears at the end of the film) hints that MJ may subconsciously remember Peter despite the spell. While the future of Zendaya's MJ remains uncertain, Disney/Marvel Studios and Sony are actively developing future films with Holland’s web-slinger. Suffice to say, if Holland returns, so will Zendaya. Not only would it be a shame not to further develop her character, but there’s no Peter Parker/Spider-Man without MJ.
