A very R-rated, NSFW video gives a glimpse into the reality where Spider-Man (and each of his film variations played by Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, and Andrew Garfield) is less than amazing and repeatedly meets his bloody demise. The character is no stranger to meeting his end, as Spider-Man has died an impressive nine times throughout various comics. That's not even mentioning his emotional cinematic dusting in Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of Thanos, as depicted by the current live-action webslinger, Holland.

It's safe to say that the concept of the multiverse is having a moment right now. Between the box office success of the wildly inventive Everything Everywhere All at Once to the incredible opening weekend numbers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, audiences seem to be craving the sorts of uninhibited storytelling the multiverse opens up. When it comes to the Spider-Man side of it all, last December's Spider-Man: No Way Home stepped things up by allowing Holland, Maguire, and Garfield to all share the screen together in a giant multiversal adventure. In fact, it could also be argued this moment of the multiverse taking over the zeitgeist is thanks to the webslinger himself with the success of 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Amongst the boom of projects playing around in the multiverse comes a video posted by Abner Pastoll that wonders, "What if Peter Parker was horrible at being Spider-Man?" What this amounts to is a series of comically gristly deaths where the hero seriously misjudges his timing, falters in his dexterity, and is all around failed by his Spidey senses and is thusly splattered, minced, and torn apart for it. The video comes courtesy of the talented but warped VFX artists at Corridor Crew, but a few of the highlights can be gleaned from Abner's twitter. Both are available below:

The Corridor Crew have made plenty sensational videos, including jumping on the bandwagon of artists trying their hands at fixing the Luke Skywalker CGI in The Mandalorian, but this might be one of their more inspired efforts. The full YouTube video details the process of finding some of Spider-Man's most iconic moments and turning them on their heads, as well as the digital techniques used to bring those moments into gruesome fruition. Some of these techniques include the use of metaballs, which are forces applied from the inside of textures such as cloth or skin that explode out into pre-cut pieces when impacted, such as the moment Maguire's Parker first tries out his webslinging powers.

While the Spider-Man video definitely won't be for everyone, there's a level of imagination at play here, gross and juvenile as it may be, that's got to be commended. This is not grim, po-faced bloodshed, but more slapstick and Looney Tunes-like in its level of violence. The runaway subway sequence from Spider-Man 2 is the video's goofy/gory apex, and the way it heightens the situation is a thing of true beauty. The inclusion of Owen Wilson's time cop Mobius from Loki in the full video as the reason to help off all these multiverse Peter Parkers is another inspired touch. While it's great that all three live-action Spider-Men are still alive and swinging, it's fun to have a peek every so often into a darker branch of the multiverse.
