Tobey Maguire is ready to keep playing Spider-Man and wants to return again after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe movie managed to bring all three live-action movie Spider-Man actors together for a cinematic event. For Tobey Maguire, it marked his return to Spider-Man for the first time since 2007's Spider-Man 3. Since Sony rebooted the web-slinger twice after that movie, it was largely thought that his days of playing the character were over. Spider-Man: No Way Home proved that Tobey Maguire could still play Peter Parker and reinvigorated interest in seeing more of him in some capacity.

Now more than a year after the movie's release, the original Spider-Man star has opened up about the idea of coming back again. Ahead of the release of the book Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special, Marvel shared excerpts from an interview where Tobey Maguire discusses his Spider-Man MCU return. It was while answering one question about returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home that Maguire, unprompted, shared his desire to keep playing Spider-Man. Based on his answer, it sounds like the Spider-Man trilogy star is ready for anything that Marvel wants him to do that involves playing the superhero again.

I love these films and I love all of the different series. If these guys called me and said, “Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?” or “Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?”, it would be a “yes!” Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?

Every Movie That Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man Can Return In

Tobey Maguire steps through a portal in Spider-Man No Way Home

Now that Tobey Maguire has confirmed his interest in playing Spider-Man again after Spider-Man: No Way Home, plenty of possibilities open up for where that could happen. The most obvious and exciting suggestion is that Maguire's Spider-Man could be in Avengers: Secret Wars. The final MCU movie of Phase 6 is expected to be a multiverse event that encompasses the entire history of Marvel movies. This could mean bringing Tobey Maguire back and having his Spider-Man share the screen in Secret Wars with Marvel heroes like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, and other legends of the superhero movie world.

There is also the possibility that Maguire's Spider-Man return interest could actually help Sony move forward with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. The movie was supposed to release in 2011 and continue the successful franchise. However, the development process never fully came together, resulting in Sony moving on from Raimi's vision in favor of a reboot. There has always been some level of interest in seeing Maguire get one more solo Spider-Man movie, especially after Spider-Man 3's reception. Now that both Maguire and Raimi have made their Marvel returns (Raimi with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), it is possible that they join forces to make Spider-Man 4 at long last.

If Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man return interest really does mean he's open to any type of appearance, Sony could capitalize in other ways too. They could have him appear in Sony's Spider-Man Universe and be the Peter Parker in Venom and Morbius' universe. There is also the opportunity for him to have a voice-only cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse now. With so many possibilities, it could be a matter of when, not if, audiences see more of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
