Warning! Spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #68 below!

With her current direction, Spider-Man's sister Teresa Parker is in danger of becoming his newest villain. Her search for the Chameleon to seek revenge for his role in the death of her fellow agent and boyfriend David sees her seeking the kind of justice her famous brother wouldn't allow. Ignoring her super spy instincts and morals, Teresa's recklessness and use of lethal force without restraint is not only something that Peter wouldn't condone but will likely cause them to become enemies when they inevitably meet within the current Amazing Spider-Man arc.

The daughter of C.I.A. agents Richard and Mary Parker, Teresa Parker's birth was kept a secret from her older brother Peter and upon her parents death, Teresa was adopted and grew up unaware of the truth until she was recruited by Nick Fury. Peter and Teresa would meet years later when Peter learned the truth about Teresa's origins and she learned her long-lost brother was Spider-Man while dealing with assassins and the manipulations of the Kingpin. Although she left the CIA to join SHIELD's Grey Blade program, she occasionally found herself intertwined in her brother's world of heroes and villains, especially when she learned her partner David Albright had been kidnapped by the Chameleon. Discovering his dead and tortured body, she begrudgingly helped Spider-Man prevent a civil war between Silver Sable's beloved Symkaria and Doctor Doom's Latveria while successfully intercepting and bringing in the Chameleon for his crimes.

Having tracked down the Chameleon's prison in Amazing Spider-Man #67, Teresa's desire for revenge is put on hold when the seriously injured supervillain suggests what she really seeks is answers. The infamous man of many faces uncovers Teresa's fears of being a life-like android like those Chameleon once created to fool Spider-Man, and he offers her other answers by revealing Karl Fiers aka the Finisher. In Amazing Spider-Man #68 by Nick Spencer, Ed Brisson, Marcelo Ferreira, Carlos Gomez and Ze Carlos, Teresa is emotionally shocked and distraught. She fires a series of shots that would have likely wounded or killed the man who killed her parents and dishonored their memory with lies. Unfortunately, the Finisher is not only protected from harm but has also helped orchestrate these events so they can have a conversation, which likely won't be good for anyone.

The Chameleon jokes, "Is that how you say hello to everyone?" but he brings up a good point regarding Teresa's weaknesses and how she can be manipulated into going down a path she may never come back from. Her soft spot has always been her parents, their deaths having left her with abandonment issues and making her emotionally compromised at times. She is dead-set on revenge against Chameleon for David's death, eager to use lethal force that her brother Peter is very much against. When she is confronted with her parents' killer, she immediately fires upon him, deciding justice for her and her family is more important than the laws that have tried and incarcerated him. Having played with her emotions in the past, Chameleon preys on Teresa's desire for answers regarding her past and her insecurities in order to put her in the room where she may make deals with her two enemies simply to get closure.

Although her brother would advise against trusting either villain, Peter's main concern will likely be over how dangerous Teresa is becoming. Despite the fact that his sister will try to justify her actions, Peter's inflexibility on his moral code will ensure he is unable to look away and insist on protecting others from his sister. Whether or not this battle between siblings is inevitable or an event manipulated by another villain, Spider-Man's sister Teresa Parker should know better if her quest for answers or revenge is going to cost her the only true family she has left.
