Tom Holland vows to help out the next Spider-Man actor who replaces him. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland suits up for his third solo outing as the wall-crawling superhero and his sixth overall appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, his most recent appearance as Spider-Man came in another Sony-Marvel collaboration, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, during a momentous mid-credits scene that is expected to change the game moving forward.

Before Holland was introduced to the MCU as Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, the iconic webslinger was portrayed by two actors before him. The superhero first graced the silver screen in Sam Raimi's successful 2002 adaptation, played by Tobey Maguire. Their trilogy went on to become a veritable hit at the box office, grossing over $2 billion. The Amazing Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield in the titular role was less of a hit, which influenced Sony's decision to allow the character to join the MCU. Now, as Holland prepares to cap off his own trilogy, the future of the character is once again uncertain.

Though no matter what happens, Holland promises to be supportive of whoever replaces him. In a recent interview with Total Film (via The Direct), the current Spider-Man actor got candid about portraying such a beloved character. Since he's unsure what the future holds for his version of Spider-Man, Holland vowed to mentor the "young kid" they cast to replace him, whether that happens next year or in the next five. Read what Holland had to say below:

When they cast the young kid in Spider-Man to replace me, whether it's next year or in five years, I'll take it upon myself to teach them about the responsibilities of being Spider-Man. Because it's huge. It's absolutely huge. Every time you walk outside that door, you're representing Spider-Man. It's tough. It's taxing sometimes. Because sometimes you just want to go to a pub and get absolutely wasted, and not have to worry about the ramifications of the public scrutiny of: "Oh my God, what do you mean you got drunk?"

Venom 2's post-credits scene teased a crossover involving Holland's Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's symbiote. And with the highly-anticipated MCU threequel releasing next month, many are probably not thinking about the next Spider-Man actor just yet. Considering how popular Holland is and how many exciting possibilities still lie ahead for his current iteration, such as a crossover into Sony's Spider-Man universe or a fourth solo film set in the MCU, many don't want to see the actor replaced just yet.

However, unfortunately, it is inevitable in the superhero business that another actor will eventually replace Holland as Spider-Man, especially considering Marvel and Sony's past disputes over the character. As Maguire, Garfield, and Holland can attest, it's not easy being Spider-Man and coping with all the pressure and responsibility that comes with the role. Although it's nice to know the next actor who dons the Spidey suit will be mentored by the most experienced Spider-Man actor to date.
