Insomniac's Spider-Man universe rogue gallery is brimming with numerous villains that can appear within Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel on PS5. With a Spidey that’s been around for 7 years, many of his run-ins with villains have already happened like with Fisk, Electro, Vulture, Scorpion, and Rhino. While the first Marvel’s Spider-man game introduced the downfall of villains like Doctor Octavius and Mr. Negative, there are many that have not become villains yet or ones that are hiding or locked up in jail.

While there are some obvious choices that were heavily hinted to appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man PS5 – Norman making gadgets for his Green Goblin persona, Harry Osborn becoming Venom, and an enclosed capsule containing Sandman - there are still more that could appear in the base game or in a DLC.

The Lizard is the first likely villain to appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man PS5. For fans who collected every backpack in Marvel’s Spider-man on PS4, a vial of the Lizard’s blood can be found with a quote of Peter saying, “With this vial of the Lizard’s blood, I was able to mix up a cure and turn him back into Doctor Connors… too bad it didn’t last.” This leads into the end credit cutscene of Spider-Man: Miles Morales in which players get a cutscene of Harry Osborn’s point of view from inside the tank. In the scene, Curt Connor can be seen in his human form working with Norman to help cure his son. Whether Curt Connors is being forced to work for Osborn against his will due to his criminal past, or he is using Osborn’s resources to improve the Lizard serum for Spider-Man on PS5, players can bet on seeing him in the sequel.

Crossbones

CROSSBONES

While this may not seem like the average Spidey villain, Crossbones has some history with Miles Morales in the All-New Ultimates comic. Since the story of the sequel will most likely focus on Peter and his issues dealing with the symbiote inside of his best friend, Crossbones could be a great way to keep the city’s second Spidey occupied during a siege from Venom and Green Goblin.

Alistair Smythe

A.I.M Advanced Idea Mechanics

Alistair Smythe is a cold and calculating villain set on the destruction of Spider-Man. Sometimes he works on his own, but in other adaptations he’s been seen working for Oscorp. However, this time he could possibly be working for A.I.M. There are hints that Osborn and Octavius use A.I.M as a subcontractor in the first Spider-Man on PS4. This could introduce Smythe as one of the lead bioengineers working there and potentially lead to his rise as the Ultimate Spider-Slayer.

A.I.M

A.I.M Advanced Idea Mechanics

A.I.M as the entire corporation itself could also appear with its own troopers similar to Silver Sable’s forces or the Roxxon corporation in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. With the appearance of Venom, and possibly Carnage, the city may no longer feel safe with both Spider-Men roaming the city. While their forces secure the city, Alistair Smythe would work behind the scenes. There are already seeds of doubt sown from some of the callers on J. Jonah Jameson’s podcast.

Wraith

Yuri Watanabe Becoming Wraith

The final villain is one that is heavily hinted at within the Silver Lining DLC: Yuri Watanabe’s transformation into Wraith. Wraith isn’t a villain per se, rather she’s more of a vigilante who’s willing to cross the “no killing” line. This could make for a very emotional moment between the two as Yuri continues down her dark path with Peter trying to save a friend. While it may end up being a DLC, fans will likely see Wraith make some sort of appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel on PS5.
