Miles Morales has proven to be a very capable Spider-Man ever since he was bitten by a genetically engineered spider from Osborn Industries. Despite only having taken up the Spider-Man mantle after Peter Parker's death, Miles has gotten to not only meet but also become friends with different versions of Peter from the multiverse.

Miles and Peter's friendship has only been explored a few times on the screen, most notably in the 2018 animated movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. But on the pages of the comic books, the two web slingers have been on numerous adventures together that further helped strengthen their friendship.

Miles Received Peter's Approval To Be Spider-Man

Spider-Men #5 Peter Parker gives superhero advice to Miles Morales

In Spider-Men #5, Peter, the most popular among all the alternate versions of Spider-Man, travels to the Ultimate Marvel universe where he meets Miles Morales. Peter, who only approves of other existing Peters from different universes, is initially skeptical of Miles but soon grants him his approval.

Since Miles is originally from Earth-1610 and the Peter of his universe had died, he was always destined to meet the original Peter from Earth-616. The stamp of approval means a lot at that particular moment because of the initial skepticism about Miles as he had been the only major male Spider-Man not named Peter.

A Resurrected Peter Handed Over The Mantle To Miles

After a brief stint as Spider-Man, Miles encounters his world's Peter, who has been resurrected. After seeing how courageously he battles the Green Goblin, Peter feels Miles is a worthy successor so he retires to a life with Mary Jane and lets Miles be the official Spider-Man.

Given how much he loves Mary Jane, there has never been a doubt that Peter will one day walk away from all the chaos and live a normal life. It's something Mary Jane and other love interests of Peter Parker have kept on insisting they wanted all throughout Marvel media, including in one of the best Gwen Stacy quotes in The Amazing Spider-Man. Peter also understands the kinds of threats that are out there, and his leaving the job to Miles is a confirmation that the youngster is as good as he is reported to be.

They Reunited After The Universe Got Destroyed

In Secret Wars #3, Peter and Miles reunite on Planet Battleword after both Eath-616 and the Ultimate Marvel universe get destroyed during the "Secret Wars" storyline. They go on to fight Doctor Doom, who has appointed himself the Emperor of Planet Battleworld.

Pairing Peter and Miles at this particular point is necessary since Doctor Doom is shown to be quite the formidable antagonist. It would take more than one canny hero to bring him down. Together, Miles and Peter get to form one of the best buddy hero team-ups, managing to bring down the villain and creating a path for the restoration of the previous universe.

They Had A Power-Sharing Agreement

Peter Parker and Miles Morales agree to share power

After the Molecule Man restores Earth-616 in Secret Wars #9, Miles and Peter come to a power-sharing agreement. Miles focuses his Spider-Man efforts in New York while Peter goes global. Additionally, Miles joins the new Avengers team.

It makes sense for Peter to be the one to offer his services to various nations since he has been around longer and also happens to be more famous. By agreeing to work together, the two heroes both demonstrate their selflessness, making it clear that it's not about who wears the costume but about how many threats are stopped.

They Both Got Defeated By Norman Osborne

Norman Osborne bonds with the Carnage symbiote to become the Red Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man #799. When Osborne injures Peter, Miles vows to avenge his friend but gets defeated too.

The Carnage symbiote is already powerful enough on its own and when paired with Osborne, who is already one of the best Spider-Man villains of all time, the threat becomes too big to deal with. But as is the case with most comic storylines, defeat for ht hero tends to be only temporary. Later on, Miles finds a way to beat Osborne.

Miles Defeated Peter In A Fight

So far, Miles has been shown to be a little stronger than Peter. This is all thanks to the Venom Blast, which is seen to be so powerful that it knocks out Cassandra Lang while she has grown to the size of Hank Pym's Giant-Man. Mile's victory in his fight with Peter isn't necessarily a bad thing as it prevents the original Spider-Man from coming off as too overpowered while making the new one look legit.

They Battled Clones Together

Miles Morales battles clones in Miles Morales: Spider-Man

When news of a villainous Spider-Man breaks out in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #24, Miles heads out to find the culprit in order to clear his name. In the streets, he bumps into Peter Parker and the two soon figure out that there are clones. The two are defeated but Miles later finds a way to win by himself.

Seeing Miles and Peter together should be enough to satisfy any Spider-Man appetite that fans might have but the coming issue does even better by sprinkling in clones. Not often do villainous web slingers get to be included in Marvel media so, despite the defeat, the arc feels refreshing.

Peter Stole Miles' Web-Shooters

A resurrected Peter Parker appears in Miles' room in Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man

When Miles shockingly finds Peter in his apartment in Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man #2, he tries to interrogate him but Peter is uncooperative. Peter then steals his web-shooters and flees.

Peter has nothing to work with when he first appears, which explains why he goes on to steal his fellow hero's web-shooters. Since he is used to being a hero, he has no intention of being defenseless. Moreover, he doesn't know much about Miles at that point therefore it isn't strange for him to act in an antagonistic manner towards him. Luckily, the two get to learn more about each other and become friends.

Miles Led Peter And The Spider-Army As Captain Universe

During the battle with the Vulturions in Spider-Geddon #1, Miles helps both Peter from Earth-616 and Peter from Earth-1048 to fend off the attackers. After seeing how spirited he is, the Enigma force turns Miles into Captain Universe, making him the new leader.

Since he has constantly found himself in situations where he needs to prove himself, Miles has always worked harder than many other heroes. He does the same during the war with the Vulturions and luckily, his efforts get repaid this time. It's also adorable that the two Peters fully support him, a moment that demonstrates the impressive unity among the Spider-Men.

Peter Felt Miles' Costume Was Cooler Than His

Peter from Earth-616 is awed by Miles' costume when he first meets him in Spider-Men #2. He declares that it's better than his own, something the two go on to debate about.

It makes sense for Miles' costume to be more aesthetically pleasing since it's specifically designed by S.H.I.E.L.D. when the teenager gets taken to their facility by Spider-Man. By Peter acknowledging that the costume is superior to his, he demonstrates that he is an accommodative hero rather than a feuding one.
