Spider-Man: No Way Home’s mid-credits scene revealed that, thanks to the first spell, a piece of the Venom symbiote is now in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it can actually help improve one Spider-Man character if it bonds with him. The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened many doors for the future of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as no one remembers him nor knows who he is, so he’s now starting all over again from scratch. In addition to that, No Way Home was the first crossover between the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, all thanks to the latter’s Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom.

The mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home was a continuation of that of Venom: Let there Be Carnage, where Eddie and Venom were suddenly transported to the MCU, with Venom recognizing Peter Parker on the news. No Way Home saw Eddie trying to understand the MCU with the help of a bartender, but before he could, he and Venom were sent back to their universe, but the symbiote left a piece of itself in the MCU. Of course, this has made way for various theories on who could the symbiote bond with in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, and there’s one character who would benefit from joining forces with Venom: Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori).

Venom Can Bond With Flash Thompson (& Make Him Better)

MCU Flash Thompson with Venom and Spider Man

Flash Thompson went to school with Peter Parker, MJ (Zendaya), and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), and spent a lot of his time tormenting Peter and making fun of his claims to have worked with Tony Stark and knowing Spider-Man – however, Flash is a huge Spider-Man fan, especially after the web-slinger saved him from the Washington Monument in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Although Flash is arrogant and a bully, he has also been used as a comic relief from time to time, but he hasn’t become a memorable character in the MCU, neither as a comedic character nor a bully – but the presence of Venom can make Flash better if they bond and Flash becomes Agent Venom.

In the comics, Flash joined the army and suffered severe injuries that led to the amputation of both his legs. Although he had come to terms with this loss, Flash agreed to bond with Venom so he could walk again, becoming Agent Venom, but he couldn’t stay bonded to the symbiote for more than 48 hours at a time or it would take full control of him. Flash learned this the wrong way, but once he and Venom got used to each other, Agent Venom became a hero and even joined the Secret Avengers at one point.

The MCU’s Flash bonding with Venom and becoming Agent Venom would allow Marvel to make Flash a more consistent character and give him some much-needed character development while also having him team up with Spider-Man – after all, he doesn’t remember Peter but he remembers Spider-Man and is surely still a big fan. Of course, getting used to the symbiote would take some time and could make way for Spider-Man and Agent Venom fighting each other before joining forces, but that would only make their dynamic more interesting,

Who Could Venom Bond With In The MCU?

While Flash Thompson would benefit from bonding with Venom, he’s not the only character the symbiote could choose in the MCU. The obvious choice would be Venom bonding with Peter Parker and bringing the long-awaited black Spider-Man suit to the MCU, but the symbiote could also bond with Mac Gargan (Michael Mando), who has been absent since his introduction in Spider-Man: Homecoming, or even Ned, who instead of becoming the Hobgoblin, could be the MCU’s Venom. If Sony allows it, the MCU could have its own version of Eddie Brock and have him bond with this piece of the symbiote, which would be fun and interesting to watch as the symbiote already knows an Eddie variant. What’s for sure, however, is that Spider-Man 4 has to pay off Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Venom tease.
