The Spider-Man: No Way Home official Twitter account has celebrated the film's record-breaking trailer. After months of anticipation among anxious fans, Marvel Studios and Sony finally released the first official look at the Spider-Man threequel. Director Jon Watts and star Tom Holland are teaming up for the third time in what is set to be Peter Parker's biggest adventure yet.

Set for a December 2021 theatrical release, the marketing campaign for Spider-Man: No Way Home started fairly late. Despite that, the film's first teaser trailer offers a good idea of what the premise of its story will be. Using Spider-Man: Far From Home's mid-credits cliffhanger as a jumping off point, it begins with the fallout of Mysterio's (Jake Gyllenhaal) last-ditch effort to defeat the web-slinging hero. Not only did the villain reveal Peter Parker's true identity as Spider-Man, but also framed him for his death. From there, chaos ensues as Peter finds his life turned upside down. However, the subsequent involvement of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who Peter turns to for help, seems that it will only complicate things further. The clip also ends with the return of Alfred Molina's Doc Ock.

Expectedly, the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser created a frenzy online. But despite the clip leaking just a day before it debuted at CinemaCon, it still managed to break multiple records. It became the most-watched trailer ever, setting a new record with over 355.5 million views around the world and beating Avengers: Endgame's 289 million. It also spawned 4.5 million conversations in the same duration, making it the most talked about trailer ever. Given these impressive numbers, the official Twitter account for the film took the time to thank everyone who "made this magic happen." Watch the clip below:

The post garnered questions about the views racked up by the reportedly leaked trailer. Previously, Watts poked fun at the leak as he mimicked how the bootleg copy of the promo clip started to spread. The account owners of No Way Home's official Twitter, however, took the opportunity to subtly throw shade at those who caved in and watched the unofficial version of the video. Once the trailer finally debuted, the No Way Home team also joked that people should be watching the official trailer as many times as they had demanded it to be rolled out across the last several months.

Whoever is handling the official Twitter account for Spider-Man: No Way Home is certainly doing an effective job at keeping people engaged. Even before the trailer was released, it would occasionally post memes in response to fans' requests for any marketing material for the movie. As the film's release date nears, users can expect to see more activity on the page. Currently, there is still no poster released for the movie yet, but no doubt the public will be demanding it now that the trailer is finally out.
