Spider-Man: No Way Home's IMAX trailer officially debunks theories that Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is secretly in it. The first official look at the highly-anticipated Marvel Studios and Sony blockbuster was released at CinemaCon and then publicly, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the movie. But while it lays out the story's premise, but there are several elements in the promo that have resulted in even more speculation than in the lead up to the release of the No Way Home trailer.

One of the most popular theories after the release of the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is that Murdock is actually featured in the video. At one point, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is brought in to be questioned about his supposed involvement in Mysterio's (Jake Gyllenhaal) death. There's a particular bit here that features the forearm of an anonymous man, and considering the persistent rumors surrounding Cox's involvement in the film, many were convinced that this is the Devil from Hell's Kitchen himself. Cox has previously denied the claims, but now, there's clear proof that it isn't really him.

Twitter user with the handle @Gymblonski shared an IMAX version of the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer that played before Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings in theaters. In it, the owner of the forearms that have been theorized to be Murdock is revealed, and as Cox insisted, it's not him. Instead, it looks like the same man who questioned Peter earlier in the clip. While this squashes the particular trailer theory, this doesn't guarantee that Murdock isn't really in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It's worth noting that Cox also just debunked the same scenario, but not his potential involvement in the movie in general. Granted that the promo clip was liberal in revealing plot details, including how Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in the story, it's worth noting that there's still a lot of unknowns about it. For starters, although it confirmed the return of Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, it also managed to hide Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Jamie Foxx's Electro, who were both teased in the promo video.

In any case, expect at least one more Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer to be released in the next couple of months, perhaps leading up to the release of Eternals. By then, Marvel Studios and Sony could be revealing new information about what to expect from the threequel. Like Cox's Daredevil, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have long been rumored to appear in the flick. Perhaps in the second trailer their involvement will finally be confirmed. Otherwise, it's not long of a wait for the blockbuster to be released anyway.
