Tom Holland says that Spider-Man: No Way Home exceeds expectations in every way after the debut of the new trailer. Holland has played Peter Parker/Spider-Man since his introduction in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, making his solo debut in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming. He appeared in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame before taking on another solo effort in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, Holland reprises the character again for the conclusion of the "Home" trilogy of Spider-Man films, a jointly-produced effort between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

The second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home just debuted, giving audiences another peek at the upcoming superhero extravaganza, which teased a number of returning villains from throughout the Spider-Man movie universe, including Green Goblin and Doc Ock from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire, as well as The Lizard and Electro from Marc Webb's Andrew Garfield-led Spider-Man projects. While there was no footage shown of either Maguire or Garfield, speculation has run rampant that they may appear in the film alongside Holland, which would vindicate many fans if it comes to fruition.

Holland appeared at the trailer reveal fan event on November 16, and Screen Rant was in attendance at the post-trailer discussion with Holland and the cast, where the actor spilled the beans on his excitement for the film. The actor said that the movie "exceeds expectations in every way possible" and called Spider-Man: No Way Home the "most cinematic, theatrical superhero movie that has ever been made."  It is interesting that Holland used the word "theatrical" as, like Eternals and Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home is releasing only in theaters. This is unlike Black Widow, which will likely be the last time a Marvel movie that has a day-and-date release. Read Holland's full quote below:

"This movie exceeds expectations in every way possible. This is the most cinematic, theatrical superhero movie that has ever been made and I’m proud to say that Sony & Marvel have pulled off the impossible."

Holland is will appear in No Way Home alongside by his "Home" trilogy co-stars Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, and Jacob Batalon, as well as fellow superhero alums Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Benedict Wong as Wong. Joining the film from the other Spider-Verse movies is Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Thomas Haden Church as Sandman, Rhys Ifans as The Lizard, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Of course, there's potential for others to pop in from around the hero's web, potentially including Michael Keaton's Vulture or Tom Hardy's Venom, but Marvel is still holding many surprises close to the chest.

With the multiverse about ready to split the MCU into one giant cluster of possibility, there's a potential that any number of Marvel properties, particularly those created under Sony or Fox's banners, could play into Spider-Man: No Way Home. There's also the distinct possibility that X-Men characters could make their way into the film as well, although there's been nothing to suggest that would happen as of yet. However, the multiverse itself, regardless of how cool it is for Spider-Man: No Way Home, could also be the plot device needed to simply merge a few cinematic universes under one umbrella, rather than restarting them all from scratch. However it works out, fans will have all the answers to their burning multiverse questions when Spider-Man: No Way Home releases next month.
