Warning! Spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home's screening erupts in cheers. The much-anticipated Marvel Studios and Sony film is finally here after months of waiting. Tons of fans have already flocked in theaters, with many more expected over this weekend. In one showing, however, it seems like viewers thoroughly enjoyed the blockbuster as per their reaction to the movie.

Spider-Man: Far From Home functions as the narrative jumping point for Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) dealing with the ramifications of his superhero secret identity being exposed. At the same time, it also ties to MCU's budding multiverse, thanks to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) casting a tampered spell that accidentally exposes Earth to other interdimensional villains, such as Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), and Electro (Jamie Foxx). Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire also show up in the film as their respective Spider-Man, confirming rumors of their involvement, as well as, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

Sony and Marvel Studios ran a restrained marketing campaign for Spider-Man: No Way Home, opting to save some of its biggest surprises for the film instead.  Months after the movie's title was confirmed, there was essentially a news blackout, with no update whatsoever from the studios. The first trailer for the movie didn't arrive until late August 2021, with its second one dropping a couple of months later. During the lack of any official news about the film, fans latched onto rumors about the flick, which primarily suggested that Garfield and Maguire would show up. But despite various leaks that supported these claims, Marvel Studios and Sony decided to save the reveal for when the film premiered, making the aforementioned actors' appearance more special. While there are several highlights in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there's a possibility that the reaction above was during their MCU appearance.

Expect more of these kinds of theater reactions to arrive online as more people check out Spider-Man: No Way Home over the weekend. The film is already setting box office records. It has posted Sony's largest Thursday preview and third highest-grossing weekday opener, only behind Avengers: Endgame's $60 million haul. That's all in the middle of a pandemic, making it all the more impressive.
