Peter Parker's ceiling-smashing fight with Green Goblin gets a new look in some Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art. The MCU's latest big screen release is also its biggest since Avengers: Endgame brought the Infinity Saga to a close in 2019. Directed by Jon Watts, No Way Home picks up with Tom Holland's fan favorite web-slinger Peter Parker in the aftermath of his previous big screen outing, 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. That film ended with Peter's identity being revealed to the world and erasing his chances at having a normal life. To fix what happened, Peter kicks off No Way Home's plot by turning to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for assistance.

Instead of making the world forget Peter is Spider-Man, Doctor Strange's spell goes awry and opens the door to the multiverse. Soon figures from alternate realities are turning up in the MCU, meaning the creative team behind Spider-Man: No Way Home were able to bring back characters from previous Spidey franchises. This included villains like Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, last seen in Sam Raimi's trilogy. Of all the bad guys who pop up in No Way Home, it's arguably Green Goblin who causes the most damage.

Case in point: His dramatic second act fight with Spider-Man. The Green Goblin is unleashed right before Peter can find a cure for him, and the ensuing fight wreaks havoc on Happy Hogan's apartment building. Recently, No Way Home concept artist Marek Okon revealed some peeks at the early designs for Spider-Man and Green Goblin's fight. In addition to showing a shot of Spider-Man in the moments after, crumpled on the floor, Okon posted the art for the moment when he and Green Goblin come crashing through the ceiling. Check them out below.

The Spider-Man/Green Goblin fight does more than destroy Happy's building, as it also results in a devastating loss for the young hero. Though No Way Home's climatic battle at the Statue of Liberty likely resonated the most with fans purely because of its three Spider-Men, the earlier fight is not without its own thrills. It represents a true turning point for No Way Home as Peter falls short in his attempts to save the multiverse villains on his own.

Now that Spider-Man: No Way Home has been in theaters and making boatloads of money for over a month, fans have been treated to several peeks behind the scenes at how it was made. From additional pieces of concept art to the release of the full No Way Home script, there are no more secrets to keep about this movie. All that's left now is to discuss it and enjoy the hard work of those who made it happen. It's probably safe to say Marvel fans won't mind doing just that from now on.
