New fan art has surfaced online, showing a potential crossover between The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film will mark Tom Holland’s third solo outing as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set to hit theaters later this year on December 17, 2021.

Though their powers differ greatly, both the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man and the DCEU’s Flash occupy similar roles in their superhero team rosters. Both are younger, somewhat insecure heroes with great senses of humor, and both have moved increasingly closer towards the multiverse in their films throughout their tenures. Holland’s Peter Parker will seemingly go on an Into the Spider-Verse-esque adventure in Spider-Man: No Way Home when villains like Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and Electro (Jamie Foxx) return, as Miller’s Flash will journey through the multiverse to meet Michael Keaton’s Batman when The Flash premieres next Fall.

Now, with the debut of Spider-Man: No Way Home coming next month, fans have begun to dive deep into theories and art focusing on the multiverse. In fact, new fan art has released online courtesy of The Flash Film News Twitter account showing what a potential Marvel-DC crossover could look like in No Way Home. Check it out below:

The above image comes from recent pictures that have surfaced ahead of the debut of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The source image is of Holland’s Peter Parker in his Iron Spider suit fleeing Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock on a freeway. Added to the image is none other than Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen, who (based on the caption) may have messed with the timeline again, just like Peter. At this point, it’s almost a guarantee that there are no actual plans for Spider-Man and The Flash to meet on the silver screen, but this art shows that fans have already picked up on the similarity between their respective arcs.

If such a crossover were to ever happen, Spider-Man and The Flash would be two of the most logical characters from each universe to spearhead the project. Both heroes have become well-known for their adventures through their respective multiverses, so it would likely be an easy sell for mainstream audiences wondering why and how they meet. Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut on December 17, 2021, and The Flash will hit theaters on November 4, 2022.
