As fans eagerly await the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hot Toys has unveiled an all-new movie promo edition Spider-Man (Battling Version) 1/6 Scale Figure, featuring a battle-damaged young wall-crawler holding "The Box" as seen in the official trailer. The highly anticipated film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei, and Benedict Cumberbatch. It is directed by Jon Watts, who helmed the first two instalments of Holland's Spider-Man movie trilogy, and will release in theaters on December 17 . Tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home are already in high demand, as pre-sales earlier this week crashed multiple ticketing websites.

After the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the world now knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man thanks to one final trick from Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio. In the upcoming Phase 4 film, trying to reverse Mysterio's actions, Parker seeks the assistance of Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch) in making the world forget his superhero identity. However, Strange's spell goes awry and instead opens a multiverse, welcoming villains from other Spider-Man films. These include Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx's Electro. The trailers indicate that Parker will also be breaking away from Doctor Strange's magic in an attempt to save the world by himself, and at one point shows Spider-Man escaping with a mysterious green box as Strange attempts to take it back from him.

Fans so far know very little about the item, which trailers suggest comes from Doctor Strange's inventory. However, a new Hot Toys figure available for pre-order on Sideshow, shows a closer look at Spider-Man holding Strange's odd cube. The detailed model includes an "authentic and detailed likeness" of Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and includes battle-damage effects, as well as interchangeable masks, eyes, and hands. On top of customizing Spider-Man's costume, this model also has accessories, including a smart phone, spider webs and, of course, "The Box." Check it out below.

On a closer examination, it is clear that this mystery prop addition is no ordinary box. The circles inside the cube feature a pattern very similar to the Eye of Agamotto, the device Doctor Strange used to harness the time stone in 2016's Doctor Strange movie. However, the trailers for Spider-Man: No Way Home appear to suggest that this device can help prevent the villains from dying. The film's trailer also revealed that the item is important enough for Doctor Strange to send Peter Parker into the Astral Plane in order to protect it, and possibly save the multiverse.

Given the patterns within the box, it is possible that this cube contains remnants of the Time Stone, which was destroyed by Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. The cube, then, could possibly serve as a piece of the time-reversal that Strange uses at the beginning of the first teaser. Or, it could be used to bring in former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, which has proved the most popular online theory amongst avid Marvel fans. Regardless of the purpose of the mysterious cube, it is clear that it will be crucial to the narrative of Spider-Man: Now Way Home, but fans will have to keep speculation until the movie swings into theaters next month.
