New promotional art sees Doctor Strange and Peter Parker team up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Arguably the most anticipated upcoming MCU film, Tom Holland's return as the titular webslinger is mired in rumors and speculation as fans clamor for any look at the film. The Spider-Man: No Way Home Twitter account consistently trolls fans hoping for a trailer and with a little over four months until the film's release, many are expecting it to come soon. First, though, Marvel will release two more Phase 4 features: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals, which will release in September and November, respectively.

Those two films may be introducing entirely new slates of characters to the MCU, but if the rumors are correct, Spider-Man: No Way Home will feature plenty of familiar faces. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are heavily rumored to appear as their previous iterations of Spider-Man. Additionally, Charlie Cox is expected to appear as Daredevil aka Matt Murdock in the film. As for what's been confirmed, Alfred Molina will appear as Doc Ock while Jame Foxx will playing Electro. One other confirmed appearance is Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, who will fill the mentor role left empty by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

Now, new promo art (via Spider-Man: No Way Home News on Twitter) teases Doctor Strange's mentor role to Peter Parker and it looks like the two will be teaming up in more ways than one in the upcoming film. The first image sees Doctor Strange and Spider-Man jumping through one of the Sorcerer Supreme's portals, looking ready for a fight. Another highlights Strange on his own while another puts Strange and Spidey side-by-side, with the latter in his magic-infused black Spider-Man suit. Check out the images below:

So much mystery and excitement surrounds the other potential cast members of Spider-Man: No Way Home that it's easy to forget that the Sorcerer Supreme will be playing a huge role int the film months before he stars in his own solo follow-up. With rumors swirling about the presence of the multiverse in Spider-Man 3, Strange's appearance is important. He'll not only likely to serve to connect Peter to the world-breaking events, but he'll also serve the story on an emotional level.

One of the most tragic losses of Avengers: Endgame and to Peter personally was the death of Tony Stark. Downey Jr.'s founding member of the MCU served as a mentor and father-figure to Peter, but the webslinger's connection to Doctor Strange already began in the fourth Avengers film and that will clearly continue in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the adventures as dangerous as ever, Peter will need all the help and support he can get and the Sorcerer Supreme may be the perfect person for that.
