Warning: Contains spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

A new Spider-Man: No Way Home fan poster takes inspiration from the latest poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Since its release on December 17, 2021, No Way Home is well on its way to becoming Sony’s highest-grossing movie of all time. This is thanks in large part to its multiversal concept and the promise of resurrecting beloved Spider-Man characters from Sony’s past, including Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Lizard (Rhys Ifans), and, of course, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men.

As a follow-up to Far From HomeNo Way Home sees Peter Parker (Tom Holland) go to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help making the world forget he’s Spider-Man. Inevitably, the subsequent spell goes awry, bringing the aforementioned characters into the MCU. In many ways, No Way Home serves as a lead-in for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In addition to No Way Home’s “multiversal madness,” the film’s post-credits scene is the trailer for Doctor Strange 2—which dropped online not long after No Way Home’s release. Even more recently, Marvel Studios revealed the first poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, showing multiple versions of its eponymous sorcerer and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

No Way Home serves as a culmination of both the Homecoming trilogy and Spider-Man cinema and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness aims to capitalize on events of WandaVision, Loki, and What If…? The film will see Strange attempt to regain the power of the Time Stone following its destruction in Avengers: Endgame—which is complicated by Chiwetel Ejiofor’s antagonistic return as Karl Mordo (among other things). It also stars Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Wong (Benedict Wong), Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), and America Gomez (Xochitl Gomez). Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is helmed by Spider-Man legend Sam Raimi and written by Loki's Michael Waldron.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ trailer teases the live-action introduction of What If…?’s Doctor Strange Supreme/evil Strange. That being said, the film is poised to be one of the MCU’s darkest yet with Olsen comparing it to a horror movie. While the above poster reflects how Peter, Ned, and MJ are at the center of No Way Home, Strange and Maximoff will be at the epicenter of the Doctor Strange sequel. What that means for the MCU and, in turn, multiverse remains to be seen when it hit theaters on May 6.
