A new Spider-Man: No Way Home fan poster offers Marvel fans a glimpse of what Peter Parker’s latest costume may look like in the next film. While the lead-up to the MCU’s third Spidey film has seen plenty of talk around the film’s inclusion of multiverse characters from previous iterations of the franchise, the infamous Marvel shroud of secrecy has still managed to keep the film’s plot tightly under wraps. A recent series of tie-in merchandise reveals, including a few new costumes for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, have sent fans into a frenzy of speculation in the continued absence of a proper trailer for the film.

Ever since his character’s MCU introduction in Captain America: Civil War, the continued evolution of Spidey’s costumes has paralleled his continued journey toward becoming one of Marvel’s greatest heroes. When Tony Stark first approached him to assist him in facing off against Cap and the rogue Avengers, Parker was already making his mark in New York as a friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man in a homemade suit of his own design. However, Stark was quick to outfit him with the first in a series of more advanced suits that incorporated Stark Industries’ cutting-edge technology. It was not until Spider-Man: Far From Home, however, that fans got to see Holland’s character create a black and red suit completely by himself, using the equipment on Stark’s private jet.

Now, off the back of the new costume reveals thanks to the first look at Spider-Man: No Way Home’s associated merchandise, fans know now that Parker will continue to improve his signature look in the upcoming threequel. Aside from the “Integrated Suit,” which appears to be a combination of his Far From Home look and the Iron Spider armor, the tie-in merch also teases that Parker will also be donning a unique black and gold suit. Renowned fan artist Bosslogic has taken this new look one step further and has mocked up a poster to whet fans’ appetites until a trailer finally drops. Check out the poster below:

Fans are already busy at work theorizing how Spidey’s fresh new looks fit into the film’s plot, and the dramatic black and gold look certainly raises more than a few questions. While Holland’s Spidey may certainly still be using Stark tech to build himself a variety of suits, much as his late mentor once did, there is the chance this black and gold look may not even be worn by Holland himself. With Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx’s Electro confirmed to appear, the inclusion of the multiverse has been hyped as a major plot point for No Way Home, and it is entirely possible that the black and gold Spidey could be from an entirely different timeline altogether.

While many Marvel fans thought that WandaVision would be the series responsible for introducing the concept of the multiverse into the MCU, it turns out that the latest Disney+ series Loki was the one to confirm the existence of multiple versions of the same character. Throughout Loki, the Time Variance Authority has been working hard to “prune” any variations from the sacred timeline, but it would seem by the time the series ends all bets will be off. However it happens, MCU fans will be busy trying to connect the dots and figure out as much as they can ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Homes December release.
