Andrew Garfield gives a more promising answer regarding a possible role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. For a while now, there's been rampant speculation the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment will bring together the three live-action cinematic Peter Parkers, with Tobey Maguire and Garfield reprising their roles from the earlier Spider-Man film series. With No Way Home fully embracing the multiverse angle by bringing back Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx's Electro, rumors about Maguire and Garfield's appearances haven't slowed down.

For his part, Garfield has downplayed any involvement he has with No Way Home, repeatedly saying he's not in the film. Even when alleged leaked set photos and videos emerge, Garfield claims they're doctored. With a little over a month remaining until No Way Home hits theaters, viewers fortunately don't have much longer to wait to find out if this is all misdirection or not. For those holding out hope, Garfield has a more promising answer as he fields another Spider-Man question.

A video shared by the Spider-Man: No Way Home Updates Twitter account shows Garfield at the premiere for his new movie, Tick, Tick... Boom! signing autographs for fans. As Garfield made his way down the line, someone expressed hope to see him in No Way Home. Check out Garfield's response below:

"We'll see, man. We'll see."

This is a bit of a different tone to Garfield's previous answers about No Way Home, where he denied he's in the film and even suggested viewers would be disappointed. It's definitely more hopeful, though it's probably for the best if moviegoers don't put too much stock into this. Garfield is just making his way down the autograph line and is trying to be cordial to a fan. The scenario contrasts from a more formal sit-down interview with the press, where Garfield can be more thorough in any comments. Also, by this point, he's fielded so many No Way Home questions, he could feel that saying, "We'll see" and having a laugh about it is better than just repeating what he's already said before.

Of course, if Garfield and Maguire are in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the news most likely won't come from any of the actors that are part of the movie. Marvel is renowned for their intense levels of secrecy, and the talent is instructed on what they can and cannot say in the build-up to release. Considering the rumors are true, Marvel and Sony have made the choice to hide Holland's predecessors in marketing (at least for now), which is a deliberate choice by the studios. Still, after months of Garfield claiming he won't be seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, seeing him give a slightly more optimistic response could be enough for some viewers to hang their hats on.
