Andrew Garfield reveals that he improvised one of the most heartfelt lines in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Marvel Studios and Sony cooked an ambitious project for Jon Watts and Tom Holland's latest MCU collaboration. Aside from following up on Spider-Man: Far From Home's game-changing ending, Spider-Man: No Way Home also brought back certain actors from both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb's Spider-Man films in light of the movie's multiversal narrative.

As Peter Parker (Holland) dealt with the ramifications of his superhero secret identity being exposed by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), he was also forced to tackle the unexpected arrival of interdimensional villains. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who was attempting to help the young hero, cast a tampered spell that accidentally exposes Earth to multiversal threats such as Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), and Electro (Jamie Foxx). But while the aforementioned bad guys were prominently featured in the movie's marketing, Marvel Studios and Sony opted to keep Garfield and Tobey Maguire's involvement under the lid until the film actually hit theaters.

Now, Garfield is finally opening up about his reprisal of his Marvel role as the wall-crawler and sharing the screen with the other Spider-Man actors in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While talking to Variety and recalling the experience, he revealed that he really enjoyed his time working with Holland and Maguire — so much so, that he improvised his line, "I love you guys," as he was truly expressing his love to his co-stars in that moment. Garfield said:

There’s a line I improvised in the movie, looking at [Maguire and Holland] and I tell them I love them. That was just me loving them.

The aforementioned line was in the middle of the final fight in the film, which was both hilarious and heartfelt. Eventually, all three Spider-Men parted ways after Green Goblin was finally contained in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Without much time to spare, as the multiverse was on the brink of collapsing, Holland's Peter only had a few seconds to thank his fellow Spider-Men for their help. And despite having been together for only a brief time, all three were grateful for the opportunity to meet each other. Garfield outright telling Holland and Maguire that he loved them was such a memorable moment and something that fans will always refer to moving forward.

It's great to see Garfield being able to openly talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home now that the movie has been out for a while. The actor had been pestered by questions regarding his involvement in the threequel since rumors that he would appear in it began months before the blockbuster premiere. Garfield consistently denied the speculation, not because he wanted to lie, but because he and the other actors were simply not allowed to spoil the film. Considering how much he enjoyed reprising his old role as Spider-Man, it's curious if he'll be given more opportunities to continue playing Peter Parker. After all, it's clear that fans want to see more of his version of the wall-crawler.
