Now that Spider-Man: Miles Morales has officially released on PS4 and PS5, fans are getting to experience the story for themselves. With a new web-slinging superhero as the protagonist, there are plenty of changes from Insomniac's first Spider-Man game. The relationships Miles has with a variety of characters, including his childhood friend Phin and her brother Rick, keeps the story rolling forward. However, one of the most interesting relationships in the game is that between Miles and his uncle, Aaron Davis.

Aaron Davis was first introduced in the Ultimate Marvel line of comics. There, he serves as both an antagonist and ally with Miles Morales' version of Spider-Man. With an already established and complicated history with Roxxon Energy and the Tinkerer, Aaron Davis would of course have to be included in the Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game.
Aaron is the brother to Miles's policeman father, Jefferson. In the video game universe of Marvel's Spider-Man, Miles's dad is dead, which means Aaron is the only possible father figure left in Miles's life. However, Aaron Davis isn't always on the right side of the law in New York City, which adds to the stress in Miles's and Aaron's relationship. This is especially strained when Miles finds out that Aaron Davis is actually the Prowler.
Who The Prowler Is In Spider-Man: Miles Morales
In the comics, the Prowler is a cat burglar and career criminal. The Prowler in Spider-Man: Miles Morales is no different, having worked alongside the villainous Simon Krieger. While Aaron is a criminal, he truly cares for his nephew Miles. When they discover each others' identities, it adds to the tension but also sends Aaron on a redemption arc that barrels toward the game's conclusion.
Aaron represents a disillusioned version of what Miles could have become, if Miles had chosen self-interests over becoming a hero. Aaron is a foil character to his policeman brother, and although Aaron believes in protecting his own interests, finding out Miles is Spider-Man changes that. Although the ending to Spider-Man: Miles Morales is bittersweet, Aaron's redemption as the Prowler is a highlight.
The relationship Miles has with his uncle Aaron has many layers, and it's one of the best parts of the game - and of Miles Morales' media in general. Although Aaron Davis is the Prowler, he is redeemed by the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and has chosen to switch sides because of the love he has for his nephew. This makes Aaron Davis one of the most complicated and interesting characters in all of the Spider-verse.
