Warning! Spoilers for Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #2 Below!

In a new What If...? story in the Marvel Universe, Spider-Man has completely lost control of himself due to his alien symbiote suit and attacked J. Jonah Jameson. While Spider-Man has webbed up his antagonistic boss at the Daily Bugle on more than a few occasions, his latest attack on Jameson is likely his most gruesome ever, as gets revenge on the man who's made his life a living Hell.

Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow by Chip Zdarsky, Pasqual Ferry, Matt Hollingsworth, and VC's Joe Caramagna is a new What If...? tale that asks the question, "what if Spider-Man kept his alien symbiote suit upon returning to Earth?" In the original Marvel Universe, Peter Parker ditched the suit after it started to control him and cause him to act more violent than ever. After getting rid of the black suit, it would bond with Eddie Brock and create Venom. In the new story, Spider-Man never got rid of the suit. It takes him down a much darker path, as he killed the Hobgoblin after the death of Aunt May. Now, Spider-Man seeks revenge on J. Jonah Jameson.

Marvel Comics released a new preview for Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #2, and it doesn't appear Peter is slowing down when it comes to inflicting pain on his long-term adversaries. The latest look at issue two shows Jameson prepping a news story about Spider-Man's recent killing of Hobgoblin while disagreeing with Robbie Robertson about waiting on the facts before releasing the story. After sitting down at his desk, Spider-Man bursts through his window and pushes him against the wall. He tells Jameson he doesn't care anymore and asks him if his new criminal reputation is what he wanted after all the previous Spider-Man propaganda. Spider-Man says they both got what they wanted as he grabs him and breaks his hand.

Spider-Man threatens Jameson on his way out, saying he'll break his other hand if he prints another word about his criminal activity. Jameson is left clutching his severely broken hand, as Spider-Man leaves him amidst blood and glass.

Jameson has long been Spider-Man's biggest hater, going to great lengths to try to ruin his reputation in the press, despite numerous heroic actions by the web-slinger. It's no surprise that when he loses control, he immediately goes after the Daily Bugle boss. Jameson has tried to ruin his life for ages, so now he's got real ammo to do so, Spider-Man threatened him to never print it. Spider-Man sent a message by breaking Jameson's hand: if he prints the story about the Hobgoblin, then he'll do much worse in their next encounter. The suit has clearly overtaken Peter's sense of good, which is bad news for J. Jonah Jameson and every Spidey villain who has ever wronged him. Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #2 is in stores later this week.
