Christopher Miller, half of the writer-producer team behind Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has responded to Tom Holland and his co-star's pleas to have vocal cameos in the movie. Holland's Peter Parker will make his third stand alone appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home when it releases next week, alongside Zendaya who plays MJ and Jacob Batalon who plays his best friend, Ned, within the film. The pair are currently promoting the film's highly-anticipated release, with recent figures revealing that the film has had the highest ticket pre-sales since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Outside of the MCU, the sequel to Sony's Academy-award winning animated feature, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse got it's first trailer this past week after almost exactly 3 years since the release of the first film. Across the Spider-Verse will see the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. The film will also feature the vocal talents of Dune star, Oscar Isaac, who will voice the mysterious Spider-Man 2099, as well as Issa Rae who will provide the voice for Spider-Woman, otherwise known as Jessica Drew. In a recent interview, Holland, Batalon and Zendaya expressed interest in Across the Spider-Verse, pleading with Sony to give them a call.

Now it appears to have gotten attention of one of the film's producers. Taking to Twitter, Miller responded to a tweet that mentioned that the pair were keen to get in on the fun and feature in the upcoming film. The producer simply responded with a hilarious gif of a monkey, holding a phone to it's ear with the caption "Call me". The tweet quickly garnered a lot of likes as fans immediately responded in droves, asking Miller to make this exciting crossover happen. Check out Miller's tweet below.

Miller's tweet immediately spawned discussions as to who Holland, Batalon and Zendaya could appear as within the animated Spider-Verse. The first film saw a number of celebrities step into voice the Spider-Man variants that Miles crossed paths with, including Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir and John Mulaney as Spider-Ham. Miller and his writer-producer partner, Phil Lord recently revealed that they were able to explore any Spider-Man and any universe that they wanted when it came to creating the Spider-Verse films and so if Holland and his co-stars were to make an appearance, there are endless possibilities as to who they could voice.

Of course, it remains to be seen if this crossover will actually come to fruition but it would certainly make for a fun call-back to Holland's Spider-Man if it did. Holland has a busy few months ahead with the upcoming releases of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Uncharted, before he begins production on the upcoming Fred Astaire biopic that will see the 25-year old star as the late dancer and actor. Both parties seem to be incredibly keen on making these cameos happen, so audiences can keep their fingers crossed that Holland, Batalon and Zendaya make the leap into the animated Spider-Verse in at least some capacity. As for now, Miles story will continue when Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse releases in late 2022.
