UPDATE: Disney has confirmed to us this advertisement was a mistake and the Disney Shop was asked to correct.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is teased in a new Disney+ advertisement. Released last summer, Far From Home is the second solo Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stemming from Disney and Sony's deal that allows the character to be part of the franchise. Not only was Spider-Man: Far From Home a critical success, it was also the first Spider-Man movie to gross $1 billion at the worldwide box office. As a result, Disney and Sony negotiated a new agreement to keep Spider-Man in the MCU for at least the next handful of years, building on what's been a successful partnership.

Though Marvel Studios is one of the production companies on the MCU's Spider-Man movies, Sony still distributes them under the terms of the deal. For that reason, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home are not on Disney+, as Sony has the freedom to work out their own streaming deals with any platform. However, a curious new Disney+ banner sparked speculation Peter Parker would be joining his fellow MCU heroes there soon.

Spotted on the Marvel section of the official Disney Shop website is an advertisement for Disney+ that includes MCU movie posters. Appearing alongside the one-sheets for Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Infinity War is a Spider-Man: Far From Home poster. However, this banner has since been updated, with Captain America: The First Avenger replacing Far From Home.

Spider-Man Far From Home Disney Plus Banner

An initial takeaway was Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home would be available on Disney+ at some point, but there was no word regarding that. Still, this was certainly eye-catching. As of this writing, Far From Home is streaming on Starz, as per Sony's agreement with that streaming service. It is possible their contract is set to expire soon, and Sony is working something out with Disney for the MCU Spider-Man movies. Of course, something else to consider is this was just an honest mistake by Disney's marketing department, who were looking to populate the banner with recent MCU movie posters. All of the titles featured premiered in 2018 and 2019. Since The First Avenger is now on the banner instead, it appears that was the case.

The two MCU Spider-Man movies going to Disney+ makes sense, seeing that every other installment (with the exception of The Incredible Hulk) is on there. Spider-Man is going to be a part of the MCU for the foreseeable future, with a Spider-Man 3 coming out in 2021 and Tom Holland set to appear in another crossover movie at some point. Disney+ also has a dedicated Spider-Verse section on their Marvel landing page (for the various animated shows), so Spider-Man already has a sizable presence on the service. Still, it's worth keeping in mind the solo live-action movies are Sony releases, and it's up to them where the titles - including Spider-Man: Far From Home - stream.
